1. The attack bike is not a vehicle, but a troop.
2. Non-Vehicles need bases.
3. The attack bike doesn't come with a base. (Mine didn't, anyway.)

So, do I not need to worry about a base? It should have been provided, I think.

Attack bikes don't come with bases (neither do normal SM bikes - only scout bikes come with the new ones) but do look better with them.

I recommend large flying bases or 60mm round (IG hvy weapon size) - although a mate uses cut up beer mats and they look fine.

Rules wise you shouldn't have a problem whichever way.

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

My normal marine bike boxes had bases in them, both the ravenwing box sets and the new marine bikers. As for the Attack bike i put mine on bases for ease.

To answer your question:
No, they're not required.

To give you a tip:

I'd put a cavalry base or maybe even a 40mm base, just to keep 'em standing.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

If you don't want to base your bikes, but still want to keep them standing - glue a short length of brass rod under the each of the riders feet so that it touches the table when laid flat, this adds stability without the need for a base.

Myself? I'd base them. If you can't find GW bases in the right size, check out Gale Force Nine's 'Pill' shaped bases - they also come magnetized of you want easy storage

EDIT: I've just read the actual title of the topic - I'd still base an attack bike if all your other bikes are based, for the look of the thing. 60mm round is the size to shoot for.

Yup, not needed (as they do not come with one) but encouraged.
