Howdy Dakka Fans,

Thought this little bit of D6G news was worthy of "News and Rumors".

We got a chance to sit down at Gencon with some of the designers of Malifaux, the new skirmish cowboy/victorian/horror miniature war game that has some wild new mechanics. After a demo, all of us were impressed. This may be a company that folks might want to watch.

Malifaux premiered at GenCon 2009 and features many innovations including card, not dice, driven mechanics in a setting that is as unique as it is bizarre.

Join us as we get to know the folks that bring you a game that features cowboys, mechanical spiders, flying pigs, and undead hookers. (no, they don’t play rugby)

(we'll be doing an in depth review of Malifaux in the future sometime, it is a very interesting game)

The game looks really cool.

I have my copy of the rules and my first Crew assembled with a few other locals who are gonna try this one out.

I'm looking forward to your in-depth review.

The mad variety of nicely-sculpted gangs is one thing, but it may be the lack of dice that gets me to pick up a $30 starter and hit the table. You have no idea how badly dice are ruining my wargaming experience as of the last several months ...

Looking forward to that review too!

Yeah, although I don't like the general artistic design of the minis they show. They all have weird anime-like proportions.

That said, I'll definitely pickup a few minis, the book, and fate decks to try it out, if only because the card mechanic sounds great.
