So, starting Sisters if Battle as my next army, as a break from eldar et al.

This list seems pretty 'tight', 6 vehicles will be hard for the enemy to deal with, got a nice covering of anti-tank and anti- personnel. Thought I'd make a list without Seraphim for the moment - move towards light vehicle spam instead.

At 1000 I'm a firm believer of more bodies on the table, and cheap HQs... so please don't recommend I get the standard flying Canoness...

HQ:

Canoness: w/ Book, Bolter (52)

w/ 5 Celestians: w/ 2x melta (158)
in/ Immolator: w/ Smoke, Ex. arm

TROOPS:

10 Battle Sisters: w/ H. Flamer, melta, (217)
VSS: w/ Book, c-flamer
in/ Rhino: w/ Smoke, Ex.arm

10 Battle Sisters: w/ H. Flamer, melta, (217)
VSS: w/ Book, c-flamer
in/ Rhino: w/ Smoke, Ex.arm

HEAVY SUPPORT:

Immolator: w/ Smoke, Ex. arm

Exorcist: w/ Dozer Blade (so I can park the Exorcist (141)
in terrain if needs be), Searchlight

Exorcist: w/ Dozer Blade, Searchlight (141)

32 Models, 6 Vehicles, 5 Faith

Thank you for any replies, Dark Fire

I don't see anything particularly wrong with it. I probably wouldn't include the Immolator as a heavy support choice on its own as they die very quickly, though since it's not carrying anything it's likely to be a lower priority target than your rhinos and the other Immolator and it doesn't cost very many points so that could turn out to be a good choice on your part. Combi-flamers are a little steep too, you could maybe switch them out for Holy Promethiums on your Immolators or a Cloak of St. Aspira on your Canoness.

I think it would run fine as-is though.

I know you're a believer of cheap HQs, but one thing i would do is give your canoness at least a power weapon. Keep the bolter if you want, but definitely give her some sort of special CCW.

She's not to shabby in CC so you might as well take advantage of that; and points-wise power weapons don't really break the bank.

If you already have a good reason why you didn't give her one, then just ignore me

For the exact same amount of points the canonness would benefit more from a bolt pistol and CCW than a plain old bolter.

Other than that I like it.

Fine, although the c-flamers are crap, and I would put some more wargear on your ONLY HQ. Stuff the HS Immolator, I have a Seraphim squad that are very good.

Short story.
500pts against above average IG player:
I lost my Stormtroopers and SoB on first turn, had Seraphim squad w/ 185pt? Canoness flying around, killed, 3 Autocannon Heavy Weapon Squads, 4 HB Heavy Weapon Squads, 2 Vet squads, HQ w/ 4 Melta gun retinue, HQ w/ 4 flamer retinue, I lost nothing else during those 6 turns. I won!!

It wasn't even lucky rolling.

That's how good Seraphim are.

Yeah - couldn't really do much else with the points, and the Immolator makes a good vehicle to screen the troop transports, and to hound fleeing units etc.

Combi-flamers are a bit dear, but allow me to deploy two templates with divine guidance if necessary...
Holy Promethium seems a bit redundant at the moment, with the most common foes Marines, of either type, Orks, Daemons, being fairly immune, if not immune, to moral damage. Maybe a little useful against Eldar.
May come down to playtesting of course.

She's really just a martyr Canoness, to give back two faith points, anyway, power weapons are kind of sub-par on strength 3 models... less than one kill against marines if charged... Combi-flamers kill more.

Thank you, consider it changed.

Why are combi-flamers crap? An extra template when using divine guidance is fairly invaluable...

Umm, can't get a squad of seraphims for 73 points... Immolator is a good shielding vehicle anyway...
Anyway, sorry but one lucky run isn't going to convince me... If you're spending 185 points on a Canoness I expect she was the one who did most of the killing - 185?! That's max wargear, with a MC- Evisc right? Just no... Rosarius is pointless when you have SpiritotM.

I'll have to think about the c-flamers, I think really it'll come down to playtesting.

Thank you for your replies.

Combi-Flamers are bad on marines, chaos marines, HQs, etc. They are ridiculously good on sisters for their points. Dont even think about getting rid of them.

If you drop a couple vehicle add on's and drop the immolator I'd grab some dual hand flamer saraphims.....they are even better than combi flamers =)

Seraphim are great ... but they burn Faith points very very fast. I think you're better off with the tanks at this low points level.

I've had a lot of sucess with a Retributor Squad with 4 heavy bolters and an imagifier. Does a surprisingly good job of mincing infantry at long range. Costs about 160 pts so you might condier running it instead of the second exorcist.

What's the imagifer for? Surely not getting Divine Guidance? 12 HB shots would only get you about 1 AP1 hit, it hardly seems worth the effort. Oh, it just occurred to me, maybe you're using it for SoTM for the large squad?
