Cold-Blooded Saurus Warrior

This post is part of a story based around the fire warrior Taun'la.
This is the first chapter and now and then I will post another chapter.
Enjoy:

Green Menace

They have been waiting for 18 hours in their Orca dropship, the tension was high and the lives of millions were at stake.
Finally the dropship landed and they heard the words; Green light go, go, go!

Chapter 1
No man's land

1 day earlier:
fire warrior Taun'la sat lonely in his room (which he shared with 3 other fire warriors) he thougth about what was at stake.
If he and his teammates failed in their duty then whole worlds full of Tau would be slaugthered and once mighty cities would burn and crumble.
Shui'fen one of his fellow fire warriors entered the room, 'We must not fail' Taun'la said against his friend, 'And we shalt not' Shui'fen replied.

The speakers sounded, all fire warriors were called to the inner plaza, Ethereal Aun'ol was going to give a speach for the men.
The speach was long and inspiring for the many fire warriors that heard it, they were now even more desperate to win the upcoming fight.

They where all given one hour to prepare themselves for the upcoming fight.
Taun'la quikly gathered some of his belongings and readied his weapons, when he was ready he marched along with the other fire warriors towards the boarding grounds.
'Some of you might not see this place again, some of you will die on remote planets, but remember when you die, you die for the greater good' Shas'ui O'thora said
'For the greater good' the fire warriors replied loudly.

Taun'la entered the Orca along with 23 other fire warriors and 6 battlesuits.
They have been waiting for 18 hours in their Orca dropship, the tension was high and the lives of millions were at stake.
Most of the fire warriors where checking there weapons when
finally the dropship landed and they heard the words; Green light go, go, go!
It was full of fog outside of the dropship and the air was filled with the sound of explosions and lasers.
The 6 battlesuits went outside during flight to secure the landing zone, Only 2 of them survived.

Suddenly the sound of explosions was not to be heard only a defening sound of footsteps.
Thump!, Thump!, Thump!, Thump!
It came closer and closer until they could see large figure in the fog, it was only when it came even closer that they could see the strange idols that sat atop of this monstrous machine.
'Ork stompa' one of the Fire warriors shouted.
The stompa walked forward crushing 9 fire warriors, it began to swing with its gigantic wrecking ball taking the lifes of yet another 4 fire warriors.
The fire warriors spreaded out and began shooting at the stompa multiple shots at the joints of the legs took one of the feet of.
A cheer went trough the the fire warriors. another 23 shots at the joint of the wrenking ball took that out as well.
Suddenly meteorites fell from the sky knocking most of the fire warriors down.
Out of the fog came 6 stormboys 1 of them had a chainaxe which decapacitated 2 fire warriors. Another 7 orks came out of the fog they took the lives of 4.
It seemed as if they had failed with only five of them left they took out as many orks as possible. In total they killed 4 stormboys and 6 boys, but in doing so they lost another fire warrior.
Suddenly the remaining battlesuits came out of the fog and killed the remaining orks, they then focused their attention on the stompa from which had come 11 ork boys including a mighty nob with a power klaw.
The nob killed a battlesuit and in turn was killed by a headshot from Taun'la.
The fire warriors concentrated their fire on the orks killing 8 the rest of the orks flead dissapearing into the fog.
The battlesuit fired it's fusion blaster at the head of the stompa which exploded.

With only 4 fire warriors and a battlesuit left to fight they moved onwards into the fog.

Chapter 2
Into the fog

They could see nothing, now and then the fog cleared and they got a glimpse of the world where they where fighting.
Suddenly Shui'fen screamed the fire warriors looked arround, he had dissapeared.
'Shui'fen' Taun'la shouted. 'I'm okay' Shui'fen replied.
'What happened' Taun'la asked. 'I fell in a trench of some sort' Shui'fen said. Taun'la and the other fire warriors slided down into the trench.
'Hmmm it's to..... well sophisticated to be ork made' Tou'shan said (Tou'shan is one of the remaining fire warriors)
'Then what is it' Shui'fen asked. 'Of course, this planet "belonged" to the imperium before the Tau empire came here' Taun'la replied.
Contact! contact! somebody shouted, all fire warriors turned arround and aimed their weapons at the direction it came from.
Two fire warriors came around the corner, one of them had lost the armor on his right arm and has a huge scar in the form of an ork bite on his right arm as well.
The other one was tiny he looked barely 13, He had lost his helmet and took with him a burst cannon.
They both stopped running when they saw the fire warriors pointing their guns towards them.
'The enemy is coming' the one with the burst cannon said. 'Get behind our lines' O'thora said.
All fire warriors readied their guns. Arround the corner came a large figure which seemed to carry a metal box for armor he had a giant power klaw and a crude flamer, on top of his back stood a huge totem to emphasise the fact that he is the boss, it was a meganob.
After him came another one and another and another and another. The nobz came closer, 13 in total.
The fire warriors lowered their weapons and started to run, they would never survive combat with a nob.
The meganobz came after them, the fire warriors easily outran the meganobz and as soon as they where out of sight they climbed into a building.
The inside of the bunker was all grey, you could see the spots where the tau had removed the imperial posters, in the center stood a cabin full of lasguns and at the sides stood some chairs.
The fire warriors stayed there until the thumping sound of the meganobz was gone.

There was light in here so Taun'la could finally properly see his teammates.
O'thora had lost two fingers from his right hand and he had added an elaborate scope to his pulse rifle.
Shui'fen had a large knot of hair on top of his head and he also had some camouflage patterns on his armor.
Tou'shan was a really long fire warrior, was one head bigger than the rest and he had a bionic left eye.
The other two sat at the other side of the room, cleaning their wounds.

Most of the fire warriors haven't had some sleep in days so they chose to look for a nice and secure place to sleep.
They found a container which could be locked from the inside, they made it as cosy as possible in there and got some rest.
The fire warriors where all sleeping exept for Taun'la, he listened to the sounds of the war when suddenly, thump!
Some sort of machinery began to work, and the container was lifted on top of something.
Taun'la could hear a gigantic roar. He waked the others and opened the container doors, before him stood a couple of ork boyz.
He looked to the left and he saw that the ground below them, he signalled the others to come and look.
They sneaked up behind the ork and killed them by breaking their necks.
The Shui'fen walked further and climbed up a ladder.
Taun'la walked to the edge of the howdah and looked down, they sat atop a giant beast that was trempling their fellow warriors.
They were atop a squiggoth...

The latter parts read more like a battle report than a story, less numbers and more description/emotion please.

I like the concept, but I agree with corpsesarefun - less focus on numbers would help the story to flow better. Also, I'd suggest taking a little bit of time to spell check your story.

Keep at it, though!

... If a Tau losed two fingers on one hand, he only has one left (Tau only have three fingers per hand).

!!!
TAU breaking ORKS necks
Ork necks are not only in front of them but also about the thickness of a firewarrior
