So I'm driving home from Pleasanton, CA today and as I'm on 680 southbound I pass the backs of some of the buildings along Pacheco Blvd (street, lane, whatever) and I notice, in big red lettering, that one of the buildings is a Harbor Freight Tools. I totally didn't realize how close one was to me. I'm super excited about this. Actually... I know they carry air brush stuff. Does anybody know what else might be a good find from them? Are they just paint type folks?

Try phoning them and ask if there are other hobby customers that shops there ( and what they buy )
they might be able to remember and tell you what other people looked for ^^

After the advice from a fellow Dakka member on here, I picked up two of their carriers with foam for my models. The foam is heavy duty and none is cut but it's all in like .5 inch squares or something, so you just pull it out to make the whole. Worked great and I hate GW's army cases now.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

DREMELS I have 2 different dremels from harbor freight and they are awesome. One is a light duty dremel that I use on plastics and detail grinding. The other is a 7 speed I use on harder plastics and metal. The only problem I had was with the light duty one, the pin use push to unscrew the bits popped off, so now I use a nail to keep it from moving while I take off the bits.
Just look around there, Im sure youll find plenty of handy tools and the like in there for cheap

They are fantastic as a source for cheap, hard-sided carrying cases.

It's great cheap stuff, but the Dremel I have is a little too cheap. It overheats quickly and the RPM's aren't high enough to really cut through plastic effectively. For stuff other than power tools, Harbor Freight is excellent.

I love Harbor Freight.

Dude they have everything, my advice to you is just go on in one weekend and case out the joint. As far as hobby stuff goes. I got all my pressure casting gear from them....cheap! $39.99 for a 2 gal paint pot, $100 for a 8 gal air compressor. I've also bought air brush cleaning kits, paint guns, and even a decent double action airbrush from them. I also bought a $7 nibbler tool for cutting rectangular holes in plasticard, I love the thing.
