Just wondering if anyone might know of a good alternate model for GWs black knights?

I’m am starting a vamp army and hate how dated the black knights look. So I got to wondering if anyone knew a good alt for them or a good conversion for the models. Thank you for any advice.

In the Webway.

My friend has a unit of Black Knights, he used the Choas Warrior Knights horses, put a skeleton which he managed to fit various pieces of armour onto to make it look more imposing. Finally he used green stuff to make a cape for the riders and one of those horse covers with. It sounds long winded but its actually cheaper and i think they look better, a bit more... undead. £50 (or $80 i think) is way too expensive for a unit of 5 Knights.

I've seen some brettonian knights converted up. The person used the regular knight box with some skeleton and zomibe parts. The armor was painted up black and the exposed bone and skin like a ghost, sort of a pale blue/green. They didn't look half bad but he was doing a undead bret themed army so they would look out of place in any other undead army.

If you have an undead X themed army you could use their cavalry, converted and painted dark. I had an undead elf army with converted silver helms as my black knights, that that army kinda ended up fizzling out.

I just took Empire knights and did a skeleton head swap, then painted the horses black.

I mixed the Grave Guard sprue with the Tomb Kings Skeleton horseman sprue for mine. Grave Guard heads, shields, and torsos with Tomb Kings steeds, legs, and spear arms. I also used Empire lances but that was because I wanted longer lances. They turned out fantastic and were completely plastic.
