I'm still not sure as to what kind of transport I want for my Tactical Squads in my new Imperial Fists army. I'm really leaning towards Drop Pods at the moment, you know, true Space Marine style, Inertial Guiding System, Deathwind Launcher (pie-plate of doom). "Yay" or "nay?"

Forever alone

I play Drop Pod Assault Marines, and I've found that they are very efficient. Yes, Rhinos provide fast movement, but Pods let you land where you want and hunker down nice and tight. I use a Sternguard squad with combi-plasmas in a pod, and their job is to drop in and eliminate MEQ units or troops in cover (love those Dragonfire rounds), while my Tactical Squads land in a good position to make use of their missile launchers and plasma guns. My jump-pack equipped Chaplain goes with a Deepstriking Assault squad and my Captain drives up the board in a Land Raider with his Assault Terminator bodyguards.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Thanks! I'm not really big on FA at the moment, more HS, seeing as how I'm Imperial Fists, with all their seige stuff. I was really going to use my Terminators and the to-be Drop Pod Marines as a makeshift Fast Attack.

Give the Drop Pod a locator beacon then so you're Terminators can deep strike in next to it safely.
Locator Beacons > Teleporter Homers
They also cost half the price for some reason.

If you can't make reach a decision based on the rules, let me tell you this: the Drop Pod kit is a colossal pain in the ass to paint and assemble.

I've got four in my own Imperial Fists army, just finishing them up, and it was not a positive experience.

Because Locator Beacons cannot be equipped on anything else than Drop Pods and Scout Bikers?

This sounds hella sexy. Will you marry me (...so I can divorce you and take your marine army)?

I'm considering drop pods for my next army for some of the stuff that C.E. mentioned... but sometimes rhinos provide for extra stuff to shoot at or cover... and they go vroom vroom.

I would use drop pods yes I agree that rhinos are nice but there armour is quite weak and if it explodes you have to take morale tests and so on, nobody wants that and drop pods have locator beacons which can land spot on and help termies land aswel. If im wrong someone please correct me. =]

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!! 92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.
