I just picked up a FW Trygon and it needs a base I was thinking of using 3 of the clear plastic CD protectors that come at the bottom of CDR's any thoughts? I'll be pinning it to the base no way I'm going to just "trust" glue, I used Zap-a-Gap CA it's great but I feel more safe pinning it down as well.

If something happend to cause a model ( thats heavy / glued ) ontop a base to fall / break off.
I think you'll have other things to worry about first.

I've used 3 old CD's for mine, glued together and the gaps filled.

Gathering the Informations.

I'd use the base from a Valkyrie, personally. I'm fairly certain you can order the base by itself, but if you're that worried about it falling off/breaking, here's another thing to try.

If you can, don't just pin it in to the base itself. DO NOT USE ZAP A GAP.

Use the two part epoxy glues that you'll have to mix together first, in addition to the pinning.

I Also agree with wood. But it also depends on how you like your forgeworld models. Plain Based (like GW bases), really basic (like playwood, hardboard) or some fancy stuff like wood plauques (mispelt i believe). The last option would be best imo if your pinning. theres plenty of wood to go through, it would be quite sturdy.

The Valkyrie base fits the FW Trygon very nicely. I would definitely go with that.

I like the idea of using wood. It would also add a good amount of weight at the bottom of the model makes it a little less prone to be tipped over.

Whatever you like. I can guarantee that when a GW trygon comes out in february it will have a different sized base to the one that you put yours on!
It iz 'ow you say, 'Ze law ov ze sod.'
