Tower of Power

Was bored so me and the missus had a game, she wanted to have the Ork Stompa so I thought that was ok and I took a Land Raider Terminus Ultra. Game was just for fun, we had a laugh though.
Realised after I had taken too many elites! Ah well!

Game
The two bastions are objectives and the Imperial Fists must also destroy the Stompa.
Deployment
The Stompa is in the centre of the board on the Ork side, the Boyz with the rokkits are inside it. The Warboss goes with the Meganobz in their battlewagon. The other battlewagon is in a position to flank the right side. The Lootas deployed in a crater to get that all important cover save.
The Fists spilt into combat squads, the heavy bolter and rocket launcher squad both deployed in each of the bastions. The other halves deployed behind the defence line, the lightning claw squad ready to make a move to take on the Orks in the battlewagon no the right flank. The Terminus Ultra was in the centre and the Captain and two Ironclads were on the Fists right side. The two Terminator squads and the Chaplain were kept in reserve.
Turn 1
Imperial Fists roll to go first. Everything runs forward, the rocket launcher and heavy bolter squads stay put.
Lascannon from the rocket launchers bastion misses the Stompa, the Marine with the rocket launcher has more luck and manages to shake the Stompa. The Terminus Ultra fires at the Stompa also though after several hits from the lascannons only scores crew stunned and shaken results. The Bosses and Meganobz battlewagon gets popped by bastion lascannon where the heavy bolter combat squad have setup, those bastion automated weapons can do something! The h-bolter fires at Boss and Meganobz, scores one wound but its saved.
The Stompa stays put as crew stunned, the remaining battlewagon moves 12” down the right flank so it’s at the side of a ruin. The Boss and Meganobz move 3” due to the slow and purposeful rule.
Only 4 Lootas can the see chain fist Ironclad only, they roll a 2 on a D3 and score no hits. The Stompa doesn’t fire the super skorcha, instead fires 3 super rokkits at the h-bolter bastion but does no damage. It fires the deth kannon at the rocket launcher held bastion, the shot scatters onto the Land Raider Terminus Ultra and scores crew shaken.
Turn 2
The Chaplain and hammer Terminators teleport in behind Stompa and don’t scatter. The Captain and Ironclads all run towards the Lootas, using a ruin to shield themselves between the Stompa. The power fist combat squad hides behind factory, out of sight of the Stompa, the lighting claw squad runs into terrain ready to blast the battlewagon with the meltagun.
The Chaplain misses the combi melta shot at the Stompa, the rocket launcher bastion fires its lascannon at the Stompa and misses. The rocket launcher combat squad do better and claim the first structure point on the Stompa! The meltagun from the lighting claw combat squad misses the battlewagon! One h-bolter shot hits the Meganobz units, but the wound is saved.
The Stompa moves 12” towards the rocket launcher held bastion, the Boss and Meganobz move 5” towards the Chaplain and hammer Terminators. The battlewagon moves in front of lighting claw squad and turns so the front armour is facing them.
The super skorcha fires inside the bastion kills entire rocket launcher squad , the deth kannon fires at the Terminus Ultra, it scatters 2” but still hits and destroys it, the Stompa fires its twin linked shoota at the power fist squad and scores two wounds, though all saves pass. The entire lighting claw combat squad in the terrain is killed by mass fire from the Shoota Boyz in the battlewagon. The Boss lights up his skorcha and meganobz fire at hammer Terminators though score no kills. The Lootas roll a 6 on a D3 for number of shots, and kill 1 hammer Terminator.
The Boss is the only one out the unit in assault range and charges the hammer Terminators and Chaplain, one Terminator dead and the Boss takes no wounds. The Terminators choose fail the morale test and fall back 10”.
Turn 3
The second Terminator unit teleports in and lands on target close to the Lootas. Both Ironclads move through cover ready to assault the Stompa. The Chaplain and hammer Terminators move towards the Meganobz and the power fist combat squad moves towards the other side of the Stompa.
The former rocket launcher bastion misses with its lascannon at the Stompa, though luckily the meltagun from the power fist combat squad scores a weapon destroyed result, the deth kannon fails its cove save as it’s the primary weapon and is destroyed! The h-bolter squad fire from the bastion at the Meganobz but score no wound. The chain fist Ironclad claims a structure point on the Stompa with its meltagun.
The seismic hammer Ironclad takes another structure point in assault off the Stompa. The chain fist Ironclad scores weapon destroyed, and titan close combat weapon is lost after it fails its cover save. The Stompa does a stomp attack, the Ironclad suffers a crew shaken result and the chain fist Ironclad looses the chain fist weapon as it suffers a weapon destroyed result two marines from the power fist squad are also killed.
Chaplain kills one Meganob in combat, two Terminators die and another 3 Meganobz get their brains smacked by thunder hammers. The last Meganob fails a morale test and falls back 9” along with the Boss nearly off the board! The Chaplain and remaining Terminators consolidate 4”.
The Stompa pivots on the spot, and the mob of Ork boyz bail out and move to and claim bastion objective. The last battlewagon moves 12” alongside the other bastion ready to wreck it next turn. The Boss calls a waaagh!, both he and the last Meganob move 10” inc run.
The Stompa fires the super skorcha at the power fist combat squad and kills all 3, it fires twin linked shoota at the Chaplain and hammer Terminators and scores no wounds. The Boss and last Meganob score no wounds shooting at the Chaplain and hammer Terminators. The Lootas gun down 3 assault Terminators which had deep striked in front of them after rolling 3 on a d3 for number of shots.
In combat against the Stompa the Ironclad scores weapon destroyed and the super skorcha is lost. Both Ironclads suffer weapon destroyed results, the hurricane bolter and seismic hammer are both lost.
The Chaplain is killed in combat with 1 Terminator, the last Meganob bows out the Boss makes its invulnerable save. The Terminators fail the moral test and fall back 5”.
Turn 5
The Captain runs a total of 11”, the Ironclad moves through cover to assault now Ork held bastion. The remaining hammer Terminators move to the Stompa, the 2 remaining assault Terminators move through terrain to assault the Lootas.
In assault Ironclad assaults the bastion and only scores crew shaken. The chain fist Ironclad is flattened by stomp from the Stompa, the hammer Terminators survive ok and return with 3 weapon destroyed results, no weapons are now left and the Stompa is immobilised. The other unit of Assault Terminators score 3 wounds on the Lootas, they fall back 7” after failing a morale test and off the board! The Terminators consolidate 3”.
The Orks do no shooting this turn.
The Boss moves 6” and assaults the two remaining Terminators and kills them both. The Stompa scores no kills on hammer Terminators and in turn they do no damage. The Nob in the battlewagon uses the boarding plank to attack bastion but scores weapon destroyed results only and the lascannon is removed.
Turn 6
The Captain assaults the Warboss, the Boss makes the save from one wound, in return the Boss attempts to rip into the Captain but Captain passes all saves! Last Ironclad only scores weapon destroyed on the Ork held bastion. Hammer Terminators do nothing to the Stompa.
In the last Ork turn the Ironclad does nothing to the bastion, the hammer Terminators finally take out the Stompa and score weapon destroyed, no weapons are left and its already immobilised. The Boss suffers two wounds after saves, and no wounds on Captain. The Boss passed morale test and stays in combat. The Nob wrecks the bastion after scoring two immobilised results.
Games is a draw, Orks hold one bastion and the other is contested by the h-bolter Imperial Fists, the Fists managed to destroy the Stompa. One objective each and one contested between the two of them.
Game Thoughts:
Good game, the Fists took a fisting for once lol. I should remember melta bombs, I could have assaulted with the lightning claw sgt and could have blown that wagon up. Might have swung the game as the Orks would have been able to claim the bastion objective by wrecking it.
Stompas are tough, and are fun in normal games too, other than Apocalypse, though is a bit hard to remember all the special Apocalypse rules for them though when you don’t play Apocalypse games.
