Blood Angel drop pods have their own rules which are printed in the Blood Angel codex. Unlike the vanilla marines codex, it does not say anywhere that units must disembark from the drop pod as soon as it lands. Additionally, the drop pod is open topped.

So I can land a drop pod with a furioso dreadnought, stay in the pod AND still fire all all the dread's weapons? Then the dread can jump out of the pod and assault in the following turn?

Did they FAQ this or something that I haven't seen yet? I can't find anything.

All kinds of places at once

You likely have the old WD codex. The new one can be found on GW's website in the FAQ section, and yes, the drop pods are fixed.

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

Kitzz is correct. You must disembark, and may not assault:

"After the Drop Pod lands, all passengers must immediately disembark (they may not assault that turn). No models can embark on it for the rest of the game." p.25 (p.26 if you view the PDF on screen, because the monkeys at GW fail@PDF'ing)

And therein lies the Problem

GW uncharacteristically updated the BA codex for 5th edition.

No doubt they rolled the critical hit on a d20 when they were moving to 5th to see if they were going to give a gak and do something or not.

So far, they have not rolled as well for everyone else, lol.

Gwar: "Of course 99.999% of players don't even realise this, and even I am not THAT much of an ass to call on it (unless the guy was a total dick or a Scientologist, but that's just me)"

not quite. if they rolled a nat 20, they would have updated the drop pod's machine spirit from MSDOS with BS2 to a newer operating system like 5th edition drop pods at BS4. and the narthecium to give FNP, and the storm shield to give 3+ invuls instead of a CC only 4+, and the psychic hood to have a 24" range, and.. etc... if they were going through the "trouble" of updating (besides just putting the logo on the cover), they could have easily changed those other entries.

er i didn't think they gave the BA drop pods a machine spirt, just BS2. If they did it would actually be one of the better drop pods as it could shoot when DS in.
