If I give my Scar Vet the Horned One and put him in a unit of Cold One Cavalry, does that make that unit of Cold One Cavalry not subject to Stupidity anymore, and can that unit now move 8 and march/charge 16?

No. Only the horned one itself is M8 and not stupid. The cold ones the saurus cav ride aren't.

Unfortunately, no on both counts. The character that is not subject to stupidity but joins a stupid unit is bound by that unit's stupidity checks.

As for the movement, it's just like joining a cold one rider to foot saurus- they don't increase their movement just because he's with them.

Maybe it was to put a skink chief on? Cant think of any other reason why you would have it....

But then the M8 is wasted and he cant go with skirmishers. The chief is fairly rubbish anyway, unless hes ona steg with spear...

True...but causing fear and being immune to it which confers to any unit he joins isn't all that bad. And it can still charge out of a unit to go hit a war machine or help out somewhere when needed.

But you could take a T5 scar vet for not many points more, and more importantly actually arm him with something useful rather than taking 35 points of magic allowance out of your allotment of 50.

Or take a chief on a steg with war spear for some actually useful offensive power.

I'm not saying I've ever used one I was just pointing out how it could be used so you don't need to sell me the other options in the book
