Hi

I have had 15 catachan jungle fighters since i was about 6(Not so well painted by my dad if i do say so ) so they didnt meen much to me then. But recently when i was looking through my room for a CD i came across them and A warhammer 40k Book. So this got me intrested in them again so i read the book and looked at various forums.

But I have a few questions about warhammer 40k's IG and rules.

1.Is there a catachan codex, And if so does this make Catachan guys separate from IG?

2.How do grenades work in a game? because ive scanned the book and cant seem to find anything.

3.Do i need a new rule book? =)

Thanks, Im keen on meeting new people and friends on this forum.

Welcome to Dakka!

Which edition of 40K do you have? if you can find out someone will be able to help with the grenade question, until then hope this helps:

1) There isn't a individual catachan codex in the 5th Edition of 40K (although there was one previously in 3rd which used to be downloadable from GW's site), just a Imperial Guard one where you can theme your force.
So you can build and play as a catachan force and enjoy some excellent special characters and background. The IG have recently been redone and now seem to have a great range of infantry, tanks and playing styles.

3)If you want to play against the majority of 40K players you'll need a copy of the 5th Ed Rulebook. Having said that I still play Rogue Trader and most of my rule books are 20 odd years old.
The only important thing is finding someone who wants to play which ever version you have (guessing at 3rd Ed.), but for the most potential opponents (and new friends) you'll probably have to get 5th Ed.

Cheers
