I'll be building the XXXth Host of the XVIIth Legion - Word Bearers!

So far, the only part of my army that is 100% assembled is my 1st Defiler.

He represents what continued Daemonic Possession for ten thousand years will do to machines.

So, here it is for all to see. Enjoy.

there are more images available in my Defiler album

It may appear to have a Slaanesh theme with all of the rings and loops. Well, that's not the case (my Word Bearers would not tolerate that). Those loops and rings are there to restrain and torture it while not in combat.

Hope you enjoyed viewing it, as much as I enjoyed building it.

I love the model. It's spot on.

The only niggle I got is that I don't think XXX is a number. Unless you are looking for the 101010th which would be CMMX? Or possibly MCMX. Or I'm just totally mentally indisposed right now (friday night and everything.) This is bothering me now though, so if someone can explain it to me...

Anyway. Can't wait to see this beast painted up all nice and shiny. Awesome conversion.

Maybe some chains from the hoops to act like reins....

Would help the rings not look like kinky nipple and nose rings....

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Though maybe that'd just make it kinkier, needless to say, aye it does look very slaanesh.

LOOKS EPIC!!!!

Very Slaanesh-like.

If you paint it un-Slaanesh-like it won't look to Slannesh-like

I love all the extra bionic/organic/daemonic bits you've done. But there just doesn't seem to be a Word Bearer theme to him - but then again, what would be an appropriate Word Bearer theme for a gigantic daemonic engine from the pits of hell eh? lol

All in all, this is awesome stuff. I think if you paint it, it would look totally awesome. How would you paint it anyway?

thank you all for your positive feedback. It really means a lot to me.

painting: Ah yes, one day. I figure I'm an -A to an A on converting. I think my painting ranks around a solid C right now. When I feel real good about my painting skills, I'll start throwing it on my heavily converted minis.

once again, thanks for the reviews

I used various thicknesses of Guitar and Bass string. Not the most user friendly stuff. But with patience you can get it into the shape you're looking for. I use two small pliers to bend it little-by-little.

Slappywag wrote:What a beast! That's going to take a lot of effort and time-management to complete. I particularly like the green stuff job on the mouth, gun barrel and claw!

Funny, the Green Stuff in the Mouth and Cannon were spur of the moment after thoughts. I was doing something else and had some left over Green Stuff, and this guy was at my table just staring at me like it needed one last touchup.
I'm slow to begin with, but I spend that procrastinating time putting some thought into what I want to do, and gathering bits. So when I did finally get to it, it didn't take all that long to assemble. Maybe a week from beginning to end. The problem I have now is I want to do another one, but I want it to look different.

Wow cool figur, it a great work you got yourself there - you don't have a step by step photoshoot of it. I'll really like to see each part of it in a close up, because it is really great
