In 886.M41, A very small vanguard fleet of Kraken had slipped into the reductus sector to find a new Star System to consume. Upon picking up its arrival, the mechanicus sent out a distress signal, fearing another Fleet would ravage the stars. A fleet of Imperial Warships moved in to investigate. Upon detecting the Hive Fleet they immediately engaged the fleet, destroying all ships and surrounding the Hiveship. In the final stages of the destruction, the hiveship fell into the atmosphere of the planet below, finally crashing into the easternmost supercontinent, Vorascia, where a small amount of the hiveship's Mycetric Spores. When the Hivemind hit the ground, it died, destroying any connection the Hivemind had to the now rampant broods.

...5 years later....

A brood of genestealers stalks through the undergrowth, looking for food. One looks up to a tree and finds a ripe Protein sack hanging from the second branch and calls his brood to a halt. After climbing up to this tasty morsel, the sack quivers, and two hooked arms pop out, impaling the genestealer. The rest of the Brood runs, leaving their pack leader to be eaten by a prowling lictor.

After the rest of the brood returns to the hive, a large, round structure that is made of cartalidge, fat, and a sphincter-entrance at the front end, two males contest for right of Broodlord. The males, both having a bright green skin with a muted, darker green carapace, circled. Sizing each other up, one Leaps. This genestealer has a darker carapace, which we'll call darkskin, extends his claws, coming in for a vicious blow to the throat. The other, having a single, protruding red fang named bloodfang, dives low. Darkskin overshot his target, and payed for it with his life, Redfang gutted him and begame the new Broodlord.
