I think alot of the weathering on tank are used by mig pigment or other various type of powder as recommended by others.
But thats too expensive for me atm , so how do people varnish/seal the powder type of things?
The last time i tried it either washed off or the powder just messes up completely.

Need help!

I believe you can seal it with Testors dullcoat , another theory is that hairspray can be used..

You varnish over it with some kind of spray (whether it is airbrushed or out of a can matters not - just not brush-on stuff which WILL disturb them).

Dullcoat works fine (when I can get it which is hardly often) so I use a matt estapol varnish instead.

Same job.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Second the request. If the powders are too expensive for you just go to a cheap art shop and buy some pastels and crush those and use them I got a complete set of 64 pastels for roughly £6 and a set of Greys for£2. However I still need to find out how to seal them. The Hairspray if I remember rightly is how the pastels I did at school were sealed hmm.

Thats exactly the same product i used . But for some reason the powder was mixed with the varnish liquid .
( is it possible that i sprayed too close or too much? )

*edit , now that i think about it , i think it was messed up before i even use the dull coat .
( before that i sprayed it with GLASS gloss coat so i can apply decals ) that probably was the problem T-T

I use a Humbrol Spray Matt Varnish on my pigments with no ill effects. Apply it in short, controlled bursts and try and give it two coats.

Brush on varnish will ruin whatever you are trying to do as it just turns it into a coloured oil.
