Just wondering which craftworlds people use and why. Personally, I am making my eldar into Saim-hann eldar, although they were gonna be my own craftworld with various blues. Then I decided I wanted a more sinister color, so I'm switching to Saim-hann.

Also, I was wondering what everyone knows about the origin of the craftworld names. Being a druid, I'm pretty sure that that Biel-tan is named after the pagan Celtic holiday of Beltane (which is pronounced more like bialltain and is today celebrated as May Day) and Saim-hann is named after the holiday Samhain (which is pronounced like saawin and is now celebrated as Halloween and All Saints/Souls Day).

The new craftworlds Yme-loc and Lugganath might be named after the holidays Imbolc and Lughnasadh (now celebrated as Candlemas and Lammas), although those are a little more of a stretch. Even the Eldar (and Elf) god Kurnous is named after the Celtic god Cernunnos.

Any other ideas about the origin of the other craftworld names and eldar names in general would be very interesting.

Playing Space Marine demo while GF was scrapbooking:
Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.

My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1

I run a "counts-as" Biel-tan... Aspect/serpent-heavy called Craftworld Revan (named before that fething KOTOR came out... I shoulda claimed copyright ). Red and black colors, with aspect-specific accents.

Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

None, my own, or Altansar, depending on your point of view.

The first part of my army (1000 points or so) is actually a fluffy Eldar pirate list with lots of Jetbikes, counts-as Hawks, some counts-as Avengers in a Falcon, some Rangers and even a couple of Vypers. The pirates, The Bloody Hands of Khaine, are all from Altansar craftworld, and I've made up a whole load of my own fluff. After that will be some element of a mainstream Altansar force, alongside whom the pirates do regularly fight, much like Yriel went back and fought alongside Iyanden when it mattered.

I've decided to move on from painting my marines (which had stalled badly) to something I actually wanted to do and come back to the marines when enthusiasm resurfaces.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.
