If I have an IC equipped with a jump pack, and he joins a unit of infantry that ignore difficult terrain..

P. 11 says the unit moves at the speed of the slowest model.

The unit can only move 6 inches maximum. But if they are moving in difficult terrain, does the unit still move the full 6'', with the IC taking a dangerous terrain test?

Or is there a rule I'm missing somewhere that says he must move as foot infantry when joining a unit of foot infantry?

Infantry don't move 6" in difficult terrain. The roll 2D6 and choose the highest. That's how far they move. (Rulebook, page 14)

Any Jump Infantry model, unless they have their own specific rules otherwise, can choose to move as regular Infantry (rulebook, page 52, 'Movement') ... so the IC could choose to move on foot, and avoid the Dangerous Terrain test. Which seems like the most sensible option... If he has to move at the speed of the unit anyway, there's no good reason for using the Jump Pack in that situation.

Well you see, the infantry in question were specified to ignore difficult terrain. Jump infantry ALSO ignore difficult terrain for the purposes of moving...

So they were. Missed that bit.

In which case, he could either move 6" with the unit (and take the Dangerous Terrain test) or move on foot, slowing the entire unit to the D6" movement.
