Subject: Mental health for you... A GrimDark production
This is a pretty heavy subject mired intricately with opinions and experiences. I am quite sure that most people on the planet are aware, at least to some degree, of the people around them. There are many ways to look at this subject, and many more ways to interpret what you find to be true for you.
Yeah... that bull had me on the ropes .
Mental health has always been a means to and end for society, good or bad, it boils down to a form of science that is quite unrefined on the whole; actively engaging at every turn the testing of societies acceptances and tolerance for outside influences. Acceptance is very compliant to the guidelines you have set for yourself and which directions and paths society has opened for you. Applying your focus in a way that you can achieve you goals is a very important thing, but we are in a world with other people, and rules are needed for practically anything that is in direct violation of peoples space and general well being.
Many people that have been diagnosed with a mental disorder (you know the one... that can't really be proven, but it can be forcefully speculated on, yeah that one...) due to the fact that other ways to deal with the same "problem" are too complicated and controversial. The track record of the mental health industry is quite poor, especially when compared to volunteer work which tends to have a much more lasting effect for whatever reason.
The main problem I see with the mental health system of order is the huge push to classify nearly anything in a way that can be used to reprimand alternate perspectives. Most teenagers are just being kids when they get in arguments with their parents over petty nonsense, but I will not discount the cases of a very serious nature. People are not fantastic-boombastic creatures, we tend to be quite confused and befuddled if nothing else, and overall our accomplishments are few when compared to what little purpose we serve to our environments. I do not say this to demean people, just to put our small amount of potential to the massive potential and achievement of the universe and reality in general on the whole. We got to the moon and we stopped, not because we wanted to, but because we began to understand the scale of our goal.
It is my general opinion that smoothies for everyone is much more important than sending a family of mice to mars, just so we can send a bunch of people in a futile effort to colonize far beyond our current skill sets. An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but in no way shape or form can that build a freaking mars colony... perhaps an aquatic colony though on some planet somewhere.
Money with googly eyes, and a monkey with a banana.
And some funny money to boot...

Mental health doesn't truly exist. Everyone's insane except for that one guy standing in the corner over there, yes you, stay still so I can hit ya. Except that some people are only a little insane and others go off the charts of insanity into the realm of sanity. That's when they begin picking off all of the insane buggers in an attempt to make the world a better place.
Its a person's obligation to let the little green man out of their head every once in awhile, write a book, read a play, shave your second cousin's nose while yelling "I am a gay robot!", just do whatever or you'll become sane and homicidal.

The irony is that he said a kick to the face instead of a kick to the balls. After all, a kick to the face is enjoyed by the kicker, but a kick to the balls is enjoyed by all.

Mental Health is never a source of amusement. Ever. I know people with Bi Polar and Schizophrenia. These conditions are all too real.
If you want a laugh, go watch Beavis and Butthead.
I am not sure how I am directly making fun of mental health, but if you could explain how I would be willing to listen.
Totally random thread in the OT was just too heavy without funny pictures, and I happen to know many people that have been labeled X, Y, or Z as well.
Okay, if I was not clear enough this is what I mean.
Jesus would be in a mental hospital if he was alive today in the Western world, and he would have most likely been starved to death or something in the third world. This is what I am talking about, if you took a bit of time, I think it would be veritably obvious.
I am also surprised no one has dropped something like this yet... I was looking forward to it .
Just so you know Mad Doc, plenty of people are of sound mind and body, and I would hope that this thread would apply to them as well.

Alright... I think the picture and YouTube links have everyone confused.
However it seems like Wrexasaur is saying something along the lines of:
1. The concept of Mental Health is largely based on what society deems to be acceptable.
2. Diagnosing someone with a mental disorder is frequently a way to avoid getting to the root of the problem by distancing the problem from normal society.
3. I worry that the mental health system will continue to increase the percentage of the population it diagnoses as having a mental disorder, and thus it will become a method of silencing strange or unpopular perspectives.
4. Something about living on Mars.

Nasty guys these astronomers.
But I prefer to blame climate change for the additional need to take all kinds of mental drugs.

Jenkins: You don't have jurisdiction here!
Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.
About the Clans: "Those brief outbursts of sense can't hold back the wave of sibko bred, over hormoned sociopaths that they crank out though."

I blame Lichenstein, its all their fault. They created mental illness and then destroyed pluto, that's why its not a planet anymore, they blew it up and replaced it with a pluto look-alike that contains the country of New Lichenstein!
