I came across an 'advance copy' of the new Space Hulk game on Ebay. The seller states "Rare opportunity to own this game. I have an advance copy of Space Hulk and I am selling it now! Item is completely new and still in shrink wrap! Don't pass up this opportunity to own this great game. Will post internationally. Best of luck and bid high."

The starting bid is £100 but it is officially released on the 5th September. Now who in the world is going to pay £42 more than the price in the shop? I think that they don't have an advance copy and are trying to get paid the £100 and then go to the shop to buy it for £58 and then send the Ebay buyer that copy.

A bit out of order I think. Luckily no-one seems to have tried to buy it.

Are you trying to say that Space hulk will be like the nintendo wii?? Used once and then put in a closet forever?? I plan on using my space hulk much more than a wii!

On a more serious note, a lot of people who bid on 40k products on ebay seem to be fairly .. low on the IQ scale. I COMMONLY see "classic" miniatures go for MORE than what GW sells them because people think they're out of print.. yet GW still sells them directly

Many folks on ebay get invested in the 'winning' (which eBay itself encourages) and overpay because of that.

As to taking advantage of others stupidity, I say go for it, a fool and his money are soon parted and you might as well get your chunk of the fools cash.

Wait, people overpay on ebay? If anything with 40k stuff, I see a huge drop off. Especially if it has just been assembled or primed.

I usually go through ebay because I can save about 50% off my purchases usually.

For what it's worth, it's not greedy to ask a fair price when selling goods. Fair price is usually market value, which is what a willing buyer would pay to a willing seller with both having a full appreciation of the facts and neither being under a compulsion to buy or sell.

If I have a rare baseball card, and the last example of that sort sold for $50,000 10 years ago, is it greedy to ask for $60k when it's feasible that the price has gone up?

Greed is an excessive desire for wealth or goods beyond what is required.

It's a niche market. The market will pay what people are willing to put up with.

I've seen a FIRST edition Spacehulk set up for over 240 quid (with a damaged box patched with sellotape).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
