Subject: Grey knight list and GK/=I= titans?

Recently started to move back towards a pure GK army, simply for the low model count and the great models and it got me thinking.
I plan on building a large ish army (maybe 5k points of pure GK) Would it be unheard of to add titans?
1st thing, i was thinking about 2 small knight titans, these would fit the theme pretty well, but then comes my problem.
2nd: Warhound titan.
Would it be possible by not only fluff, but in general to have an inquisitorial warhound titan?
The model could look great after some tinkering, but would it feel out of place atall?

Willing Inquisitorial Excruciator

I would think it perfectly reasonable for a powerful Inquisitor to be able to requisition just about anything he wants. If there are titans operating within his sphere of control, and he believes that he needs them to combat the threat of the daemonic, I would imagine that there would be few who could question and/or turn down his request. I'm talking someone of the stature of an Inquisitor Lord who is in charge of an entire sub-sector or the like.
That being said, I think it would be a bit odd that a titan would be painted in the livery of the Inquisition or the Grey Knights. I think it would retain the colors and name of one of the existing Legio (or one you decided to make up) and operate under the auspices of whatever theatre commander happened to be in charge (Lord Solar, Warmaster, Inquisitor Lord, etc.). But, it's a big galaxy and you could justify just about anything you want!

This is what lead me to think a warhound was somewhat out of place.
Knight titans are fairly small compared to them, and could be kitted out to work along with them.
Warhounds just seem way too daunting and far to extreme for them (if thats possible)
Thanks for the input

Wrathful Warlord Titan Commander

I don't think an Inquisitor would have a personal titan/knight, certainly not from what I have read in the fluff.
Certainly the requisitioning of resources is within an Inquisitors scope, but whether the Priesthood of Mars would acquiesce would be dependent on circumstance. they are after all independent of the Imperium and subject to their own whims and arcane plans.
The fluff would suggest the most likely way that an Inquisitor could obtain such powerful allies is via an outstanding debt and/or fealty owed for a deed done in the past. The Red Hunters SM (from IA:Vraks #3) would be a good example of a separate organisation ( SM being apart/independent from the Imperium as a whole) that has strong ties to the Inquisition, going so far as to include the =I= symbol in their insignia.
Obviously this works both ways so the GK could have connections to a titan legion, who in honour of this could/would include reference to this within their general livery. This could take whatever form you want, so a warhound could extensively be decked out in its legion colour scheme with banners or maybe kill markings denoting =I= or GK symbols?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Of course having written all of that, it is your army and you should feel free to come up with any scheme you think.

I don't have it front of me, but I remember a White Dwarf article just after the release of Titan Legions in the 90's, and it mentioned a Titan Legion purely in the service of the Inquisition, Legio Ordo Sinister I think. It had a metal/grey colour scheme. I'll have to dig through the old issues to find it.

They could "requisition" the Warhound after it saw battle against Daemons. It would be quite possible that they might take the Warhound to "ensure the Machine Spirit is untainted. It might take a while."

There's nothing wrong with including a Warhound in an army. The titan legions could be requisitioned by an Inquisitor for a specific mission or campaign, (although they would most likely keep their own heraldry) or as Mattlov said, they might keep it to keep the taint out.

The Knight titan will be making it into my army, however, not sure how to arm him yet (possibly with an arm mounted incinerator and force wep of some kind, with 2 shoulder mounted psycannons)
This is just a rough idea as of yet though since i havent put alot of thought into it. (ie: no idea what to start kitbashing with)
The warhound may be a future project added to this, but chances are ill be scratch building as i wont pay FW prices

There are, however the dreaded Psi-Titans. Crewed entirly by psykers (I think one is rumored to be manned by Grey Knights) they are all based on a single, secret forge world somewhere in segmentum Solar

Actually, all Psi-Titans are based in the Solar system, and are parceled out as needed. They form a Legion solely under the control of psykers, and most likely work with Grey Knights as both are based in the same system, both use psycannon weaponry, and both seem to have the same mandate (yet different backing).

Inquisitors could ask for Titans and then it's entirely up to the Ad Mech who would throw away many many lives to keep them safe. But, should this really be in tactics if you want it bsed on Fluff. Because they do seem like a good idea, and you could just explain that the Ad Mech agreed to the request, but would not provide any more than what you have.

A titan legio entirely dedicated to combat daemons is plausible with the enormous power the inquisition has.
Though the problem I see here is that normally the inquisitors move quickly from place to place investigating daemonic manifestations,so the psi-titans would have to be in between systems always or near forge worlds, their sheer size also demands a large manpower to maintain, so i also see alot of techpriest, adepts and princeps/moderatii.. I think what i'm getting at is knights are more mobile option for a inquisitor thinking of asking for a huge mobile firepower. thing is I haven't seen a knight even in drawings, not like their larger cousins the titans.

I've been getting the impression for a while now that the Inquisition (specifically the Ordo Malleus) and the Adeptus Telepathica both use the Emperor's Tarot to formulate plans, plot routes, and to maneuver units into play based on the shifting tides of the warp. As such, Grey Knights tend to apparent when needed, as needed; we could say the same about Psi-Titans, which are deployed as the Tarot indicates. Like Grey Knights, this would greatly cut down travel times as the Titans themselves would already be in route before a call for their present was even indicated, let alone sent for!
