Hi, I've just stumbled across this forum and was blown away by the creativity and skills on display. I really am interested in collecting an army and painting them up, but am unsure how easy the painting aspect is. I have done many oil paints, and wondered how different it is from painting on canvas to painting a model and getting a great result. Any advice would be most welcome.

I am experienced with flat surfaces, but I fear this will be a whole new ball game.

Welcome to Dakka! Best advice I have ever heard on painting is to just do it. You learn tricks and such on your own pretty quick, and you can always post pics of your stuff to get comments and such.

Welcome and it is a whole different thing to paint a mini but like what was said before me it comes to you pretty quick. One thing i can tell you is to prime and paint the minis before assembly.
