I cant put a diagram on here so ill try to explain it as simply as possible.

Imagine 2 squads of Fire Warriors, both with a Shas'ui with Target Lock and Markerlight (Let's call them FW1 and FW2). There are also 2 squads of Orks called O1 and O2. Imagine the following scenario:

1: The Shas'ui of FW1 fires his Markerlight at O2
2: The Shas'ui of FW2 fires his Markerlight at O1
3: The rest of FW1 fire at O1, gaining the advantage of FW2's Markerlight.
4: The rest of FW2 fire at O2, gaining the advantage of FW1's Markerlight

I know this may sound like gibberish but this was the easiest way to describe it.

Thanks,

Valkyrie

No, you cannot do that. Page 15: You can choose any order for your units to shoot, but you must complete all the firing by one unit before you move on to the next.

So you have to Complete all of FW1 Units shooting first.

As Gwar! said.

Also helps the game flow more smoothly as you don't jump back and forth to squad who haven't yet fired. using marklighter counters against the marked unit is also helpful too

You could, however, buy a hard-wired drone controller for x points, and marker drones for x+30 points each. These have networked markerlights, which you can use for the same unit's firing, getting roughly the effect listed above.

if you wanna play with markerlights buy two pathfinder units and equip 3 railrifles to each use the markerlights pick two units (non-fearless) and have the rifles shoot at each others units so they can benefit from reduced leadership on pinning tests

To ensure there is clarity here....

The drones would fire first, then the rest of the unit can fire (essentially benefiting from the markerlight of that drone) - This is the 'same effect' he is referring to. This, however, does not permit drone 1 to fire, drone 2 to fire, rest of unit 1 to fire, then rest of unit 2 to fire.

Please note - terms like 'always/never' are carried with the basic understanding that there are exceptions to the rule, and therefore are used to mean generally...

"I do not play people who blatently exploit the rules to their own benefit, in any game. It is disrespectful to the game designers and other players."
