I don't like the Dread's in the DP's. They are unable to assault the turn they arrive, and that is what Furioso's are for. Unless you are going to run FW rules and take Dreadnaught Drop Pods (new IA2 update they are assault vehicles)

Where do you get Company Champion from? You only get him with an Honor guard squad. Your set up would be 175 for an honor guard with champion and jump packs, not 135. Are you meaning a Captain maybe?

I love my DC, but spending 210 points for the extra guys is a lot for one unit. I'd say cut them down some.

I'd say get rid of the pods and a DC and get a Predator (your BA, get a Baal). Or you could get a rhino for you tac squad or a 2nd tac squad might be a good idea. Another option is to make you Furioso's DC for the extra attacks (up to 7 on the assault!!!)

1. Mmm...I'll take out those 'Pods
2. Sorry, Meant captain.
3. Yeah. I'm taking off the Jump Packs and just puttin' em in a rhino.

I'm definitely re-working this list, as I'm not fond of it after looking at it.

What kind of enemies do you face most?

My advice would be to drop all the extra DC and get a 2nd tac squad and give your assault squad melta bombs. Let the 3 DC you then have keep their jump packs. I know that only 3 is not much, but then put your chaplain with your assault sqaud and you DC in front of them as a shield.

Then swap the Drop Pods for a Predator with HB sponsons. As you are BA I say go for the Baal. It can deal with most anything. With rending, it even has a chance to kill AV14 (S6+D6+D3=15!).

If you grow to 1500, some I'd suggest rhinos and a Bike squad. 2 rhinos, 4 bikes w/ powerweapon, melta, meltabombs is exactly 250, to bring you to 1500. From there (or in place of) you could get a landraider.

Don't use DC as a shield and don't reduce their size. At this point level they are your best close combat unit. Use them to your advantage.

My only change would be drop the drop pods for the Dreads, and add a Rhino APC for your tactical squad. You could also add a chaplain for your death company for; 1) retaining control of who they attack other than the closest thing and 2) Chaplains also have power weapons(Power Crozarius or something like that hehe) that can add synergy to the rending attacks of death company.

QFT.

Do the opposite (to what salted suggested), use a few infantry rhinos/razorbacks to speed forwards on turn 1 (whilst the vehicles pop smoke) with all jump-pack mounted infantry move 12" and run D6" and stay close up behind these vehicles. Leap front turn 2 and hopefully get into assault.

This keeps alot of things in cover for 1-2 turns after which assaults should happen quickly. Death company with thier 3+ saves, 4+ cover saves and FNP become extremely resilient.

I was just trying to help. I have used a smaller DC as a shield in smaller point games before and it has worked for me. But as always YMMV.

The Death Company are no longer the knockout hitters they used to be but they are still just as resilient and even moreso with cover saves. They are best used tying up hard units so the rest of your army can rampage through the enemy lines.
