So I got my first comic in 3 years - not counting the two trades I got in the last year - the other day (free with $5 purchase, so some 3" foam counted), and happily picked up something by my favorite artist, Mr. Mahnke. Unfortunately I think I'll be breaking my vow and actually buying comics next week, because my favorite inker (Mr. Nguyen) is doing GL Corps too, and this Black Lantern thing is honestly pretty fakking awesome.

Anyway, here's my question: Why is there an oreo on Manhunter's coffin? In answering that I'd be grateful if you could tell me what he's doing dead too! Oh, and I guess Hal being back was a bit of a surprise as well ...

Can't answer why he's dead but I can answer the Oreo question. MM loves/loved Oreos. No I am not kidding.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Yeah, Batman put it there at the end of his funeral. It was a recurring joke during the JLI era that he had a bit of an addiction to them.

He died during Final Crisis. Damn you Libra !

Blackest Night has been very enjoyable so far indeed. I didn't even know that there was a new(ish) Hawk and Dove.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

No doubt. If I'm actually buying comics again, even 'just' GL, I should probably do some reading ...

Cheers for the oreo explanation lads, nice move having Bats leave it for the desicated green dude.
