I posted this somewhere else on the web net but I would like the input of the dakka folks.

Now that planet strike has been out for awhile I was wondering how people are playing certain pieces of terrain with regards to vehicles specifically aegis defense lines, stone walls, fences, and sand bags. Are aegis defense lines and stone walls being played as impassable or dangerous terrain or something else? Do fences and sand bags affect vehicles at all and are they being removed if they are ran over? In planet strike I believe the defender chooses what the terrain can do but what I would like to know is how they tend to be played.

On a side note of comparison reality I remember some years back a nut job had stolen a tank and drove it over pretty much everything until it tried to run over a cement wall of a divided highway where it then became immobile.

Your Grandmaster is the only good leprechaun that remains, all the others turned to whiskey.

It's Planetstrike. It's Like Apocalypse, just with less models but a lot more broken.

Best thing to do is clear it up pre game

IMO, hard cover should be played as impassable or dangerous terrain in Planetstrike.
Soft cover should not affect vehicles.

I would suggest to:

-aegis defense line or low stone walls = dangerous terrain
-fences,sand bags, bushes = only cover save, normal terrain

Reasoning:
-low profile cover doesnt stop vehicles ( skimmers, tanks ).
-soft cover like fences or sandbags may slow down the footsloggers a bit.
-maybe trenches and barbed wire could be difficult terrain. ( infantry, cavalry )
-impassable terrain would not allow to enter, thus assaulting the defender would be pointless. If the defender surrounds his objectives with "impassable" terrain, you should find another opponent ASAP.
- if youre gaming group/opponent is happy with such additional rules (houserules), go for it.
