I repeat: You are not going to have a lot of friends with this list

First, take 10 rangers, pathfinders, and hide them in combatless areas with a farseer w/doom, fortune, spirit stone
You should know what they are for by looking at their gears, hold objective and shoot
Then, have an Avatar with some hard aspect warriors, send them out and let them go contest some other objectives
For the last thing,have about 10 cheap guardians in a Wave serpent w/spirit stones and star engine

you might have heard about this before, but its worth it for me to write it again

This is not a difficult tactic to beat.

There is nothing in this list with any staying power, or any significant power. It's like fighting an unfolded napkin. it may look big and threatening, until you try and tear at it, then you discover it is thin and no threat to you.

Sounds like something a couple of MM/HF landspeeders would have a field day with.

the problem, tony, is that there is no such thing as a combatless area of the board... I see your farseer babysat unit chilling there, i'm going to rush a flamer tac squad in a rhino up the flanks and blast you away. then i'm going to missile your avatar to death because he's not fortuned, and with null zone he doesn't stand a chance in hell.

You realize your maximum ram range is 24", right? Star Engines don't get added on in the movement phase.

Your army will also die completely and utterly to any decently played Mech list.

I'd be more inclined to fortune the Avatar than the Rangers.

And a combat-free zone? There is nothing like this. Outflankers, fast moving units, deep strikers.

Combatless Area = 1. Area my victorious troops have cleared of the enemy; 2. Area that has been hit by orbital bombardment (preferably mine).

Yeah, My mate used that 36" star engine tank shot for ages on me before we realized he was cheating. but by that time i had started using no tanks and all drop pods and dreads so it was fine. He had nothing to Star Engine Shock, lol. And combatless area's do exist..... That's right where i deep strike everything because there's a enemy unit that thinks it's not gonna get destroyed. Terms, Tacticals and Dreads! Oh My!!!
