I'm thinking of adding a second warrior squad to my 'Nids for games above 1750. My current squad of 9 is armed w/ deathspitters and talons. I've considered cloning the unit, but want Dakka's opinion.

Here's a thought-

6 warriors
Carapace
+1 BS
+1 Str
5 Twin Devourers
1 Barbed Strangler
1 Talons


5 Twin Devourers is 20 shots,18", at bs 3, twin linked, str 4, rr to wound, ap -.
Strangler is a single large blast at 36", str 4, ap5, pinning
Strangler+talons is only 3 pnts more than the twin devourers.



Questions-
Should I drop the Strangler?
Should I un-twin link and add 1A each (talons) to save 20 pnts?
Does the squad need to be bigger? Smaller?


Any suggestions or constructive criticisms are appreciated.

I have great faith in warriors, would love to see an army of those guys

IMO, it is important to abuse wound allocation, even if you loose a bit of efficiency in shooting, as you will gain some in the end by having your warriors survive longer before you have to start removing models

What to mainly arm them with would depend on the rest of your army and the role you want them to play of course

That's a great suggestion. Personally, I don't like the term 'abuse' because the basic rulebook suggests such an allocation system would be advantageous. Semantics aside, perhaps I could mix the deathspitters with the Devourer models, throwing in a few Devourer and Talon guys, and a strangler. That would make them better suited to have a favorable wound distribution.

How does that sound to everyone?
