It has recently occurred to me that the upcoming Codex: Space Wolves will be ideal for representing Iron Hands and their successors. Let's review, shall we? This codex provides several key features for Iron Hands armies that the recent Codex: Space Marines does not:

-The ability to take Terminators as Sergeants for standard squads

-The ability to take a Venerable Dreadnought as HQ

-The ability to take Razorbacks effectively without footslogger Combat Squads (esp. good for full mech armies)

Obviously, some of the features of the Codex won't be suitable for Iron Hands. For example, Blood Claws or Fenrisian Wolves don't really fit in to the Iron Hands milieu. That said, I suspect that my Iron Hands successors will be adopting the new Codex, as I think that the fundamental "Iron Hands" organization is better provided by the upcoming Space Wolves book than it is by the standard Space Marine Codex. The loss of Combat Tactics will hurt, but I can adapt, and if Space Wolves keep Acute Senses, all those bionic eyes may finally be worth something on the battlefield. What do you guys think?

Sounds interesting, I can see it working, blood claws and fenrisian wolves can be worked in tho, blood claws are those brothers who are testing their mettle face to face with the enemy where theier strength can be properly tested.

As for the wolves, Ironhands are a techical chapter known for their arcane mechanics, so, cyber dogs.

im thinking of doing hte same thing with my iron hands.

I don't plan on using Blood Claws or other overtly "wolfy" units; the main advantage of the Codex for me is the Dreadnought HQ and the ability to take fluffy Razorback units. If I could do these things in the normal Codex: Space Marines, I would.

I will say that I considered using Enforcer Barbaretta's cyber-mastiffs from Inquisitor as Fenrisian Wolves counts-as models, but I decided that it was a little too weird, and I have three Land Speeders anyway for my Fast Attack slots.
