Tail-spinning Tomb Blade Pilot

I played a friend of mine yesterday and he was using swooping hawks just to try them out (he got them for free so wanted to see why everyone hates em.) He was trying to do this tactic when they arrive they drop a large blast template. That was fine but something unusual happened. He tried to land in an open area and scattered off of the board. He rolled on the mishap table and the unit was forced to fly back to reserves. Question was "do you still get to use the large blast or does it not get to fire?" I let him fire it as I know nothing of the Eldar codex and the weapon isnt that effective but I was just wondering if any of the experts knew the actual ruling. Granted I doubt the Hawks get played much but it is a good question for discussion.

Everytime swooping hawks arrive from reserve via deepstrike they get to use their grenade pack.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

It is used "Any time a Swooping Hawk unit uses its Deep Strike Ability". So you can potentially use it multiple times a Battle (See: Skyleap), and it happens even if the Hawks Deep Strike Mishap.
