Would like help adjusting this army to be fun, fulfilling and able to win. I am not trying to make a Tourney List (though I appreciate what to add to make such possible). I have an Ork Army (2000pt) and the addiction grows strong. After I finish painting my orks which I vow'd before I do before buying another army, I chose Eldar. I am working on a 1000pt list which I will buy once I am satisfied.

Here is my List and will update as I recieve feedback.

1000 - 1500 pt Eldar
No $$ Restrictions what ever is the final result will be bought
Painting Scheme: Phoenix

---------------

Eldar Codex
White Primer (zomg not black cuz of orks?)

HQ
Baharroth 200
Farseer: Runes of Witness/Spirit Stones/Guide/Mind War 125

Fast

Swooping Hawks x5 105

Heavy

WraithLord: 2x Flamer/WraithSword 100

Elite
Wraithguard x6: Warlock/Embolden 240

Troop

Guardians x10: Weapons Platform is SL 105
Guardians x10: WP is SL / Warlock:Spirit Seer/Embolden/Singing Spear 134

Total 999

Mind you no one plays Eldar in my group nor have I read / bought codex yet. BTW should the I buy the codex or is a new Eldar one coming out within my lifetime?

Here is my idea one troop w/warlock seer walks with the Wraithguard taking point. Bahroth and his swooping group DS in or seperate to out flank weaker positions or pick off things. The wraith guard unit is the shooter cover of groups and the farseer moves or joins units that need him.

The only thing I require in this list is Wraithlord .I have thought about Prism Tanks but would need to field two to take advantage of the gun right? Or idea...

I need help / advice please

Thank you for your time thoughts. I look foward to purchasing / playing Eldar very much.

-Cheers

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47

If you are really set on a Wraithlord or two, and have no money restrictions, I suggest you take a look at the forgeworld models, they are amazing (pretty sweet avatar also).

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

I was looking at their onlines store they have alot of Eldar Vehicles but other models I was only able to find Avatar and Eldar Revanant Titan. I double checked the tabs but I couldnt find any other type of unit. I am defiantly gonna pick up one of their Titans.

Right?

Also, any adjustments to this list I should try / do / etc.. ?

Well, that depends on a few things...

1) If you want a list that 'matches' the theme of a craftworld (the one with lots of wraithguard), swooping hawks (or any aspect warriors) are probably not ideal to fit in there. You might like more wraithguard, or some sort of tank in the heavy slot instead.

2) If you are looking to just have something that looks nice on the table, you have some good modelling choices there. Maybe look at some other HQ or elites choices (like the avatar from forgeworld).

3) If you want it to be more competitive, Eldar have superior choices in every slot to your choices, unfortunately. In general you are looking at a bunch of units all holed up in wave serpents for just about every competitive Eldar build (Mech Eldar or Seer Council).

1) The only theme I plan on carrying over is the painting theme of phoenix. I can live without Barrahahahrorah or what ever his name is. Between the two I want that wraithlord. Like the wraith guard / lord themed group. I know little Eldar Fluff but so far staring at the models The death harlequins and that HQ reaper look pretty nice with the wraith units.

2) You are correct gonna adjust the list.

3) So I have been reading. Good to know thank you.

Codex worth buying or they slated to get an update within a year?

Eldar are not even on the horizon for a new book, which means at the VERY least 2-3 years before they are updated. almost assuredly more.

Dark eldar are on the horizon for a book, which means probably not until next year.

Thank you. Depressing to hear, but needed the answer.

Dakka Dakka members have a massive foundation of collective thought. I know others who want to put their two cents in and should do so!

Again, not looking for a solid tourney list. Just something fun that shows off the eldar's powa. Only require that the least at least have a WraithLord in it.
