So...a SM Power Weapon can be anything, right? Doesn't have to be a sword?

I was thinking about a whip. Anyone got any idea how to make one and make it look good?

Has anyone else got a custom built power weapon that is unique or atypical?

I had a few ideas for them (a slim, rapier like weapon, a flail) but does anyone else have any good ideas? And, if possible, how to go about converting it?

Cut a powersword or chainsword off below the hilt, drill a hole, and then heat, stretch and shape some spare sprue and glue that to the hilt. If you want to be really fancy, see if you can find some clear coloured sprue (like from a Gundam kit) and stretch that - instant "on" power-whip

Anything can be a power weapon
Aslong as it has some form of electrical do-hicky on it its fine

Hmmmm, for a Whip... Personally I would use a Axe, or sword handle... Now, for anything dealing with whips tentacles of any length, I use modeling 26 or 24gauge wire called "Bright Wire" From there you cut the length you want, personally I like to use 2-3 strands and either twist them all together, or make a twist here, make a twist there. Personally I like to make a coil-like pile on the ground. Once you get the length you want, drill the handle, doesnt need to be very deep, just enough so you can stick the strand/s of wire into the handle and super glue it.

From there, you then need to find you barbs for the end of the wire, those are tricky here is what I have found to work best....
I have tons of dark eldar warriors and on their sprews they have tons of spikes and yada-yada... well I clip the spike just a little so I can super glue the barb to the end of the wire... let it dry, then green stuff to cover the cut. let dry. Then super glue green stuff lightly, and next to where the barb and wire meet.

If you would like I can dig through my bitz box and make a quick Power-Weapon whip on a paint dummy model and post it for you.

I think I could get it to work...quick question though...where do you buy 'Bright Wire?'

I got mine from, "Micheal's" But many craft stores care it, ALOT of florists use it to bind flowers together.
