Subject: Any way to use a jumpack as "wings"

Chaos Lords/Sorcs can take a jump pack, or they can take wings. Jump packs makes them jump infantry, wings allow them to move as jump infantry, meaning with wings they can still go inside transports. The caveat is this line in the FAQ:
"Note that the model must actually be converted to have a pair of wings rather than a jump pack."
My issue is i am building a sorcerer who will have wings, but i do not want to use the wing model. I, in fact, want to use a jump pack model. I've got a spare of the super cool raptor backpacks, and its that vs the static possessed wings that everybody and their mother uses. But i don't want to take a hit in game terms just because of my aesthetic preferences. This rule seems to directly mess up counts-as, which i find to be very annoying.
So, to put it bluntly, i am looking for a way to get around this rule. I don't want this to bite me in a tourny or something later, but i really don't want to use wings. I firmly believe that i shouldn't take an in-game hit because i want to use one model over another when they serve the same purpose.
On the same topic, would anybody care about this swap if you were to play somebody who had a jumppack modeled by who used the advantage of wings to be able to go in transports?
EDIT: And some food for thought: If i were to cut the wings off the possessed wing pack and attach them to the jump pack would the ensuing contradiction create a black hole?

I see nothing wrong with it, as long as it was clear before hand that the Sorcerers Jump Pack counted as wings.

It says they have to have wings, not a Jump pack. it is clear.
However, modelling something that could be a mutated Jump Pack that lets you pick what one you want to use would be a cool idea.

Ah but its in the FAQ Gwar, i thought you'd be all over that
My other option of course is to magnetize, which i may need to do for transport reasons anyhow.

I like your last option. I've had to deal with this before believe it or not, and at one time had a Daemon Prince with multiple jump packs even It was hard for the naysayers to say much about my "winged" jump-pack sorcerer when they allowed my "winged" Daemon Prince on the same table.

C:CSM, page 85 actually shows a Winged Jump Pack.
WTH. . . but it is there.
That should help in any case of the issue being brought up.
I think.

What about a set of wings with a Jump Pack on each wing?

Try picking up one of the previous edition Chas Raptor backpacks. It's essentially a jump pack in the shape of wings. I've got one on my sorc and have never had any difficulties convincing people it's wings, not a jump pack. But it still looks way better than possessed wings imho.
Then again, I wouldn't give any opponent grief about counting a current-edition raptor jump pack as wings, even in tournament play, because I think they're awesome.

As far as having the chose for both with one model, I have a Hive Tyrant with converted double arm devourers and a pair of scything talons, so I can choose either devourer/scything, or two TL devourers, people seem to love it.

It's pretty clear - to get the advantage you MUST model with wings.
