Hi again,

4 weeks ago we published the World at War: Gear Krieg book. It seems to become our bestseller.

Time to reconsider our releases. We ran a Poll at the DP9 forum, had some healthy discussions there what is best to do (customer feedback IS important for us!) and made some decisions.
We are going to bring out Walker specific books. These books will be far cheaper then our usual books. By doing so we can focus on the walkers that are already represented by beautiful DP9 miniatures and we can published the books more frequently.

So the next release is the British Walker Compendium I: Cavalier
The book will be ready to download VERY soon. All Mks from I-VI covered, all the Traits you need to play with them, all the additional special rules, the AFVs army list and the usual amount of pics, plus the B&W version and the unit cards.

The book will be shortly followed by the British Walker Compendium II: Roundhead
Again all Mks will be covered.

We also started to look very seriously into the possibilities of a quality full colour print version of our Gear Krieg book, keep the fingers crossed, there is maybe a way...

It would be nice if someone posted or you guys had access to some basic rules of the game. As it is my Gamestore doesn't carry this product at all.

It's hella sweet models though.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

The battlefield evolution is actually pretty good, it's based on the last edition of the starship troopers game from Mongoose Publishing.

While SST died, the rules were quite good.

The basic aspect is, you rolled d6 or d8s. Every unit has two actions, one player goes then the other, however every unit gets one reaction on the enemy turn.

To attack, you declare a firezone of usually 3"-6" radius, meaning 6"-12" diameter. All models caught in that zone are targets. You roll your attack dice, adding bonuses or penalties. Starting with the target model closest to the firing unit, you apply the dice from highest to lowest. Every unit has a Target and Kill score, around 4+ to 6+, this is the number that you need to get to either hit or outright kill that model, if you just hit, the hit unit gets an armor save.

If an enemy model ends an action within 10" of one of your units, it gets a reaction, once per turn. This can be to shoot or move, some units get special reactions.

There's other quirks, but it's a good rulesset. Thing is, I think it needs more direct changes to better suite the 15mm scale than what's presented in GK. The rules were clearly designed for 28mm, but I'm not sure they have the rights, or license, to put out a properly modified 15mm version.

Thanks Vertrucio for the initial explanation!

Being the author of the Battlefield Evolution World at War (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/miniature/detail.php?qsID=1591&qsSeries=47) and the Pacific War supplement I may be able to shed some light into this topic…
;-)
You can download the core Bf:Evo rules as part of the Bf:Evo Developer Pack for free here: Evolution Developer Pack (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/bfevodevpack.zip)
My free World at War: Add On (http://www.wargamevault.com/product_info.php?products_id=59118&filters=0_0_0&manufacturers_id=2468) gives you additional rules and game examples that make World at War an even better game (at least in my humble opinion) …
To get a feel of my pdf Vehcile Compendiums, please check the A.D.Publishing section at the Wargames Vault (http://www.wargamevault.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=2468), feel free to download any of the free Full Sized previews.

15mm scale:
Battlefield Evolution: World at War was indeed written with 28 or 20 mm miniatures in mind. The official Dream Pod 9 Gear Krieg minis are 1/100 or 15mm miniatures.
This proves no problem at all since the Battlefield Evolution: World at War system is flexible enough to handle this scale as long as your minis are individually based. We found that the weapon ranges look in fact more realistic when using individually based 15mm infantry miniatures.

In the World at War: Gear Krieg book (http://www.wargamevault.com/product_info.php?products_id=63973) we provide not only an introduction to the Gear Krieg Universe, new or modified traits necessary to play with the units of this book, modified Advanced Rules to enhance your games even further, an AFV force list but also an in depth view on playing World at War in different scales.
With this book you can play everything from 6mm upwards, even rules to use multibased infantry miniatures (as used in Flames of War) are provided.

Good! :-)

Well the WaW book can be bought from Mongoose, while all A.D.Publishing books are pdf only books that can be bought via the Wargames Vault.
(just click on my banner below)

As far as the minis are concerned: Why not take advantage of DP9s 20% off on all Gear Krieg sale!!!
