i had an idea to make an IG army made around the black templar.......i would have no psycers and use the weapon types that the BTs use......im not sure if this is a good idea or not.....why it would be a bad idea is they only work with the daemon hunters but i think it would be neat to have a black templar IG set IG force lr=et me know what you guys think

The only thing I can think of that wrong is 'what planet do the guard come from?' Templars fly around in space ships.

Guard are on a ton of planets. The Black Templars could have recruited them by some means, and uses the local IG to help their mission.

You could also use scouts painted up as BT for carapace vets - just give them all shotguns.

I think Neophytes being an element in the army like that would be interesting.

Guards get transported around on ships, too. The IG isn't about defending a single planet. Planetary goveners have allowances to set up their own defence forces separate from the Guard.

so in all IG themed army would work...its alot of dakka..no sykers....it sounds like this idea could work...so ill get to work on them soon...still though if any one has any comments please feel free to let me know what you think

Not sure how your greenstuff skills are, but I bet Cadians with sculpted tabards & painted in a BT scheme would look pretty nice (and probably go along well with the SM's). Even just "loincloths" could do well to tie the IG in with their BT allies. Done right, these forces could look pretty cool together.
