I put this guy together with odd pieces and custom built the staff and Orb.

What do you think and what improvements could be made?

Well I like it, I would like the Tentacles to be a little longer and maybe a little more ominous looking but all in all I like it

I agree. I like what you have going on here but the tentacles are a little too short, too organic and too "Dr. Octopus" (IMO) How about ending them with modified tips of necron gauss weapons? Maybe even adding short lengths of the green acrylic rod? That way they still look Necron-ish without looking like a Mechanicus' mechandrites.

Nice work already, though. I really like how you've painted the orb.

I'm glad you put him on a destroyer, Dr Octopus ain't a 'cron!

I like the staff tho, looks a little more like the real Staff of Light compared to the one on the regular lord

A friend suggested using Bass guitar strings for the tentacles. I like that idea. Thanks for the feedback!

Yea that would work and it would keep an equal thickness. Then you could do what Marushi suggested. I think turning a couple of them into Gauss weapons and then maybe two into some CC, maybe some C'Tan Phase weapons =D

If you used bass guitar string, try using a slinky "D" string. The spikey bit on the end of warrior guns fits nicely over it...

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

Conversion: sound but needs longer tentacles
Paint job: way too thick mate, try thinning down your paint with some water and haivng lots of thin layers (aim for a milky consistancy)

Thanks again. I'll try the slinky "D" and thinning the paint

However, all in all I thin it looks good ^__^

I like what you did with the orb, I am reminded of Saruman's orb from LotR!

Nothing else to add, other than the paint thinning, especially on the cloak-like thing.

Good work though!

Rico.
