I went to the LA battle bunker this afternoon and i was browsing around the IG section when a black shirt staff , who was giving a bunch of new applicants a rundown of what was on the wall, commented to them that too bad GW had them take out the IG stormtroopers from the shelf. i inquired him on this and he said all the stromtroops are only available as special order in the GW website and when i asked what the reason for this was GW was preparing a new line of glory boys (refused to say if plastic or pewter) in conjunction with the release of witchunters codex. I was actually looking for the stormtroopers and they were really off the shelf. Anyone else heard this on the grapevine?

Please God, please can the plastics be soon.

The plastics are in the next wave I believe.

They've been direct for 2-3 months. I haven't been able to order them into my shops for awhile.

As to the upcoming Witchhunters codex, hell, GW still hasn't given me codes and prices on stuff coming out in two weeks!)

A new Witchhunter book. I cant see it really. As much as I would love plastic stormtroopers them coming with the Inquistion book just seems far fetched and about a million years away

Yeah witch hunters and GK both moved Direct only this summer , while DE are normal order now...

The Stormtroopers/Karisakan moved to D.O. either are the Codex release or shortly after.

A significant amount of GW product has moved to direct order only. The GW by me has shrank their in stock options severally, to the point of really disappointing. By caring less merchandise in stock, and encouraging direct order, they can reduce their overhead, and have a few main hubs to do mailing.

I'm always skeptical about "new models" and such, look at dark eldar, they disappeared about 2 years ago from the shelves...

they're purposely moving to an all plastic boxed set retail environment according to their stockholder statements IIRC from a few months ago. in addition to "charging what the plastics are really worth" (because up until now GW has been cutting us slack on their prices, lol!), they plan on carrying the core plastic boxed sets with the metal blisters mainly being moved to direct order from GW. will they come out will plastic stormies? i hope so. will i hold my breath? nope, not with rumors of necrons/nids/night eldar coming out first (hey, i tried to start it with the letter "n" and that's all i could think of!). if the rumor tied it to a later wave of IG, i'd find it more believeable than the witch/daemon-hunters.

The interesting part, at least the last time I looked at our trade order form from GW, is that Kasrkin boxes are direct-only now, but the Kasrkin in blisters stayed on as normal stockist product.

Honestly, sometimes what they do just doesn't make any sense at all.

Our GW store got word that they wouldn't be getting anymore tyranid boxes... =/
