Just thought we should keep you abreast of the 28mm plastic Wars of the Roses. They are being tooled at the moment, and will be available for Christmas (this year!).

Billmen

There will be 40 figures of bowmen and billmen, including command. You will able to vary the ratio of bow to bill, with up to 30 of the former and 18 of the later, plus four full harnessed command with various arms. So plenty of spare arms and heads. The pictures here show resin casts of the original three-ups.

Bowmen

There will also be a metal range to complement it.

By the way, the plastic Napoleonic French Heavy Cavalry are on schedule for release at the end of this month.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

...damn, not what I thought.

I wanted to pick up 28mm models of Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.

In all seriousness, these look like excellent models, and a fine addition to any army! Those helmets would look great on Traitor guard for 40k!

Wow. That had to have been a real rough set of sculpts for the boys. Not everyone would have been able to make those models at all, everything considered, but the Perry Boys turn in their usual hysterically good work.

I was thinking "Brettonian Men-at-Arms" when I saw those pics. Any idea on how much a box of these would go for?

Nice mini's

Its about time the Perry's did some "War of the Roses", back when I first met them they were doing "War of the Roses" Reenactment - must be around 15 yrs back now, so they know the time period very well, and it certainly shows in the weapons and armor sculpture of those mini's.

Perry's strike again. They continue to produce some fantastic models. Now if I only had a project/game to use them with...

the kit lets you vary the ratio of bowmen to billmen, so there should be plenty of extra heads

Can you have Danny Devito in your army?

Those helmets with visor down would make great Inquisition heads.

I might just have to pick up a box of these for conversion bits.

Honestly, I've never had much interest for historical miniatures or games, but these are so good I want them anyway.

The Perry stuff is normally 25mm rather than 28mm so they will be smaller than GW figures. They look more Bretonian than Empire as well...

No, but you're welcome to be a slimebag Rules Lawyer, just like his character (although, he was just a slimebag Lawyer)! And it doesn't even require a mini (much like you don't need one for da Coach in Bloodbowl!)

I doubt prices are announced yet but the rest of their stuff is super reasonable, $30 for 30-40 figures.

If I ever try to paint five hundred minis in a year again, I'm throwing a chunk
of Historicals into the mix. The prices are just too good.

Somewhere in south-central England.

The secret with historicals is not to paint every single figure to Golden Daemon standard.

In most popular rules you have to mount 150-300 figures onto multiple bases, so it isn't worth putting a whole lot of detail on them.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
