I love SH, the whole presentation is great, but i'm terrified some of my tiles will start to peel, what do you think i could "seal" the edge? I was thinking clear or black nail polish, but would like some other ideas. Thoughts?

Black nail polish isnt a bad idea actually. It solves both the cosmetic and wear and tear issue. Might be worth trying on the tile sprues before going all out on your own tiles.

and black nail polish is grimdark!
just keep in mind that if you make the edges thicker they may not want to go together.
i'm not sure how tight of a fit it is already so make sure you have som wiggle room.

I wouldn't use nail polish, mainly because of its inherent thickness. If you are going to go down that route then gloss black enamel (hobby, model) paint flows better, is waterproof and will do the same job.

wouldn't PVA glue be ideal? it should bind and seal at the same time?

PVA is a glue, and is not really waterproof. You would run the risk (especially in humid areas) that the pva would become moist, messy and sticky.

Black nail polish is less grimdark and more emo-lite.
Paint (or black marker) then varnish would work better.
That said, my 20 year old SH1.0 tiles have not fared too badly (and we have some humid summers - nowhere near as bad as Florida/Texas, though - but no hurricanes either, so all's fair) after all this time with no such protection.

PVA glue is not a viable solution for sealing the edges. Black enamel paint is hard, and waterproof. Black fingernail polish is good as well but will require reaplication through wear.
