The Ork Codex says that a Meganob has 2 wounds, but the Warhammer 40k 5th ed book says 3 wounds. I play orks, so 3 is good for me!
What do you guys think?

The Errata and Ork FAQ are silent on the subject.

Would that be the 5th ed book that states that, in case of differences between it and the codex that the codex takes precedence?

Meganobz have two wounds, same as all other nobs.

The rulebook says Codex>Rulebook in this instance, so use the Codex Number. The one in the rulebook is a typo.

Yeah, otherwise Wave Serpents would have 2 rather than 12 front armor (page 104, AoBR rulebook).

the discrepancy probably occurred because they are planning on changing MANZ to have 3 woulds when the new codex eventually arrives, but for now, you play what the codex says.

I take offence to that! Monkeys are intelligent wonderful creatures. It was clearly a Dolphin. Bunch of pricks so they are!

It's not a monkey. For editing GW feeds their rules into the improbability drive. If the results match the display on their digital wristwatches, then all's good. If not, they start randomly switching bits of rules with 'Historical Quotes' from the times that Ultramarines stomped the crap out of unknown Xenos with stoneage level technology.

That is in fact correct, and well said. MANZ only have two wounds. They are 40 points, jeez they are great anyway.

You should always go of the codex I think, Meganobz are just Nobz with cool armour, no more.

Indeed,
Very scary nobs with big armour.
But yes, 2 wounds going by the codex

The summaries at the back of the rulebook are a joke.

My gaming group relishes using the typos as a source of entertainment.

For example, My all time favorite
p. 53 CSM, look under wargear, and see that Fabius Bike has power armour. hehehe...

also,
the Dark Eldar summary sheet is pretty funny too. It's found at the back of the rulebook. I think Dark Lance has str 48 and ap 8, but I can't recall correctly.

Really, GW should have dakka edit their crap. Gwar's project (found in his sig) got edited so tightly and quickly I was astounded. Dakkaites don't mess around with editing.

@Iboshi: I second this.

I mean, at the moment it seems like GW is failing a vital step of the 'evil overlord rules' You know, the one where 'I shall have a six year old child look over my evil plans. If he or she finds a fault, I will not proceed with the plan'

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

Having been in a similar position (though not nearly as incompetent) I suspect that the summaries section was done by whoever the 'new guy' on the layout team was at the time.

Laying out that kind of stuff is repetitive and dull - exactly not the sort of work a designer enjoys, but is called on to do quite often - so it frequently gets thrown onto the desk of the lowest in seniority.

Doesn't change the fact that their proofreaders appear to be a small punnet of radishes found in the staff fridge. (To be fair, I've worked with some lovely proofreaders, but even the best of them are only human)
