Vally of Freja

I sold my csm army a couple of months ago and people have started bugging me about whether im gonna make a new one in time for our local tournament
and ive more or less got it narrowed down to four choices but i cant seem to pick one of these favorites, that is why i now turn to you lovely people here at dakka
for some much need advice.

What i want from my future army is more or less something i can make and infinity project out of, i want to expand it to apocalypse, im liking titans at the moment,
what i mean by infinity project is an army i can continue to expand on as im not really looking to do other 40k army's besides this. i mostly play with close friends and
for the fun of the game, i play in our local tournament each year because i think its great fun and theres only one jack***, who likes to win no matter the cost and if he can
ruin it for every1 else he takes that as a bonus, that i absolutely have to beat.

My four lucky candidates are:

Iron Warriors: my very first 40k army ever, i have some wonderful memories about this army now i know that the current dex is very bland, but i think i can live
with that im not a hardcore tourney gamer so i can live without the dual lash army. i admit a big part of my reawakened interest in this army is because of Lemmingspawn's
amazing thread, a good excuse to build me some big demon engines out of random stuff is quite appealing at the moment.

Orks: i love them even though ive never played them, i love the models, the humor and the possibility's this army gives and its a great opportunity to build a horde army
something ive never had the pleasure of playing.

Space wolves: their new and shiny, ive all ways loved them and their fluff. not to mention im into Norse mythology being from Scandinavia myself and its properly the only
loyalist chapter i could ever see myself playing.

Skyrar's dark wolves: a renegade warband shown in the csm dex its really just a lame excuse to play space wolves while staying on the dark side.

thanks in advance

Hope is the first step on the road to dissapointment

As an ork horde player, I recommend against it. It gets boring fast, and all the painting will make you wish you never thought it would be a good idea. That being said, orks are an army that you can play in a number of different configurations, so when you get board of horde you can switch your list up by buying some toys and losing some boyz. The models are pretty sweet.

I would recommend that you start playing some iteration of space wolves. If I had the money I would do it. The codex looks awesome, the models coming out look incredible, and the future support will be much greater than that any other army will receive. The only thing you have to decide if you are going to go to the dark side or not.

As much as I'd like to see Iron Warriors done well by anyone, It might be fun for you toride the 'new' bandwagon for awhile, and go with the Wolf craze. Wolves have alot of neat things, that your poor blandified Iron warriors would not.

If your looking to go with an army that your going to be able to really add on to, i would go with Orks. There are a TON of different ways to play them and since you want something that you can continue to work on, orks are the way to go. They have endless ammounts of conversion options and their models are extremely fun. Plus, their really competitive and one of the best armies out there at the moment. Its also nice to see that many ork army builds are competitive...not just 1. For example a Horde/greentide army is amazing but so is a speedfreaks army. Mech can also be amazing. Its nice having options and still being able to win.

Also, you always have the option of running the Space Wolf rules from their new Codex, but painting in the colours of those dark wolf guys from CSM. That way you can play with the new toys, but not just be another army of blue/gray guys.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.
