Can't say I'm really a fan of any of them. Fairly distinctive though, I'll give them that.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games. |

They've got a bit of a retro vibe going on.
The poses are fairly undynamic. They could do with a bit more detail, like cargo belts, hatches on the armour, that kind of thing.
The Necron-a-likes would make nice robo-henchmen for a pulp villain.

I like them, especially the guy carrying the pig. I suspect they'd be a little small alongside 40k models though except for the cybermen types at the top.

I thought that they all looked rather Dr Who-ish as well.
Not much use for regular 40k use but great for =I=munda/28mm Dark Heresy henchmen/mercs/bar room tuffs.
Well found Kid.

I was actually kind of thinking they might work out rather well as another member race in the Tau Empire. The guy with the pig is just awesome sauce.

I disagree with pretty much everyone- these figs are great. I'm tired of every fig in a sci-fi range having a ripped, athletic physique. The pugy aliens are great, and the faces are really well-done. The suits are retro-looking indeed, but that crudity has a cool feel all it's own.
I'd buy 'em for any sci-fi roleplaying game that I didn't want to just include same-old-same-old stuff in. These will be great for the new Rogue Trader RPG. I mean, who wants to just see the same races that we play 40K with all the time? The galaxy's full of minor races, not just 'Nids, Spehz Elvises and Kroot over and over again.
|
Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

They look like Tau, except not the skinny vegan socialists with sleek gas-efficient foreign suits. They're like redneck Tau, with big beer guts, who don't wear shirts, have bad facial hair and tool around in PoS rides.

Zombiesmith's Quar would be fun for a minor faction or Tau allies.

They also do some nice Greys who would fit into a number of Pulp/ SF games.

Sinister Chaos Marine

The second picture, these blue guys, look great! "Redneck Tau", well yeah But first thing that came to my head was "retired Marine sergeants", who still have their power armor pants on while working in the garden Of course, they're a little to blue to be Marines... except Ultras. Do Ultramarines turn blue after several hundred years of service? I bet they do
I like the look of the minis. They have the great retro sci-fi feeling. Course, that doesn't fit 40K, but it reminds me of several SF books I've read. "Bill, the Galactic Hero" and other, not-so-grimdark works.

I love alternative miniatures, concepts ideas... I can even forgive some lack of polished execution on those.
These seem aceptable for the retrogeek in us... yet this month nothing and I mean NOTHING can steal the thunder for the freakist minis from taban miniatures:
Please keep posting diferent stuff Kid_Kyoto I really apreciate them... specially the pig from hell

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k. Rule #1 - BBAP

I don't hate them at all. The first set would make great alternative Necrons.

It's from a little company called Studio McVey
http://www.studiomcvey.com/
They specialise in limited edition resin casts.
The Seraphine Le Roux figure is £11.99, which seems a lot but when you think an SM Devastator is £5 it's not bad given a limited edition run of 750 pieces. They must be brilliant character or special villain figures for role-playing.
I'm sorely tempted but I don't think I have the painting skillz to do it justice.
