It was 1/3 of the conservatives, not 1/3 of the total.
Meanwhile, what's the US attitude to screwing around with gonzo questionaires? In Australia if you asked if Obama, Rudd or whoever was the anti-christ you'd get about 90% saying yes.

I hate poll questions like that. Its such a ridiculous comparison that a certain number of people will inevitably take it as meaningless hyperbole, and equate the query to "Do you think Obama is bad?" A similarly sized group will take it seriously, and vote no due to the fact that Obama isn't in danger of sprouting horns, growing a tail, or using the right hand of doom to unlock a portal to Lovecraftland. And some people will answer yes just because the question absurd. That level of unpredictability renders the results useless.

I think the best part is the 18% that's not sure. I mean, the people that think he is the anti-christ are probably exactly the kind of people you'd expect. It's the fact that 18% of people in New Jersey are thinking "You know, he could be the anti-christ, we'll have to really be on watch."

If you take that literally then I would say those participants in the poll were taking the piss.
If you interpreted that metaphorically to mean that Obama pretended to be the saviour of America but will actually bring it to ruin, then I can accept that people could think that.
Why was that question even in the poll though? Does Obama have a history of being accused of being the Anti-Christ?

Theologically the Anti-christ is a false savior and part of the unholy trinity along with Satan and the Beast.
Historically "anti-christ" is a person that you really don't like, and has power.
