Sorry if this has been posted before. Me and my friend were thinking one way to annoy people(and for fun) was to take a 100 strogn chosen unit. I said it was legal and so did he, but many WHFB players at the FLGS said we can't do it. What is your verdict.

After we did the math we found it takes $630+ to buy this and 2000 points after upgrades.

The book says excatly what size can a Chosen unit be.
If it's 5+ then it is legal to use 100 man sized unit

Ask any GW rep and they'll tell you that not only is it legal, but you should go ahead and buy two of those units.

How exactly are you planning to field it, a 20x5 block? 25x4? You're really putting all your eggs in one basket in case something like a flank charge happens (a rear charge probably wouldn't bother you considering the sheer number of attacks back). I can see where people complain though. Which mark you stick with? I'm assuming either Tzeentch or Nurgle.

Surely 20 wide so flankers will havea real problem getting round there....

As much crazyness as this sounds like... what pointsize game are you playing? If its like a normal 2250 it wouldnt seem to work so well... 250 pts for your 3 core and at least one hero... Could be a big problem... Well theres always hounds... and a cheap hero but yeah... its 100% legit

I would start freaking if a saw that many chosen in one place. But yes, all of the above are very correct.

Teclis+BOS, use flames of the pheonix and hope they fail to dispel it or use it in combination with vaul's unmaking and target the enemy mage (if he has one) to get rid of dispel scrolls early.

Screaming Skull catapult with foe heads. Enjoy.

I say make the unit span the entire board. 6' board is what, 72 inches? So make them 72 models wide, with 28 in the back rank.

Join Sigvald to the unit so that they ignore difficult terrain penalties and can't be march blocked.

Add a BSB to the unit for extra combat res. Give the unit the War Banner.

Add several sorcerors to the unit, to do damage to harrassment units.

Put 3 warshrines behind it to grant it blessings.

Every turn, march up the board. The unit can't be marchblocked - first of all there's no room unless they're in charge range and Sigvald makes the unit unable to be blocked anyway.

Stick a lord on a dragon behind the unit and declare charges on things that get within charge range that you're sure will flee. Since you're a large target, you can see over the chosen at what's in front, and fly helps take you over them to get there.

It'd be funny to try out. The whole plan is shot to pieces by a single piece of impassable terrain though hehe.

That sounds great, but it should be done with an unbreakable unit that ignores terrain (perhaps with a banner) Then we can make house rules for pushing enemy units off of the board hahaha

Stubborn Ld10 with insane courage on any double is about as good as Warriors get with being unbreakable.

Yeah, so use Flagellants or something like that. Anyone know if there are any no max unbreakable units?
