Title says it. How do you play Valks/Vendettas with passengers?

MODQUISITION EDIT: To be clear how do other posters play this situation in real world (TM) gaming?

Can a Drop Pod carry Models who cannot Deep Strike?

This poll is not needed. The answer is "Yes, they can". Anyone who says No is not playing by the rules.

Thank you very much for answering my "How do you play it" poll with a RAW argument. You are in violation of the Tenants of You Make Da Call Rule #4:

4. Rules as Written are not How You Would Play It. Please clearly state which one you are talking about during a rules debate, and do not argue a RAW point against a HYWPI point (or vice-versa).
- Many arguments can be avoided if this is made clear. Don't assume you know the point your opponent is arguing about.

I am not arguing anything. I am stating what the RaW is so people can make an informed choice. You should have stated "XXX is RaW, but how do you play it?" Your OP as is is unfairly bias and a loaded question.

Very simple: the passengers are not the ones outflanking so it is fine. The vehicle takes them along for the ride.

HWYPI and RAW should be in perfect agreement here.

Now you are attacking me personally. Stating my post is "unfairly biased" or "loaded" is pretty openly accusing me of trolling. This is a violation of the Tenants of You Make Da Call Rule #5.

Er. No its not. the original post asked posters how do they play it. Thats about as unbiased as it gets.

EDIT: I have edited to make it even clearer.

After reading the Outflank rules, it tells you EXACTLY who can Outflank. These being models with the Infiltrate/Scout Special rules. Also any dedicated transport they are riding in can outflank.

Where does it allow you to take a Vehicle that has the Scout rule and add in infantry that don't have the rule? The only exception listed, is the dedicated transport.

As the Vendetta can carry models with these rules, as well as models without, I can't see how some of you think its clearly possible to mix the two. The rules for Outflanks specifically tell you what is required.

I voted No, unless until someone explains where they can get around the paragraph in the rulebook telling me who is allowed to outflank.

How about the fact those models are not outflanking, the transport is, but the modles inside count as outflanking because their transport is. By your argument, Space Marines may not Deep Strike via Drop Pods, which we all know is not true.

Perhaps the title of the thread should be updated to include the words "House rules."
Would scratch the whole "this is how it is played RaW," and "ZOMG BREAK FORUM RULEZ" stuff from happening...

Because otherwise you're asking do people play as the rules intend vs. house rules on it... which could very well beyond the 2 options given.

Why are you bringing up Drop Pods? We can always start a second thread discussing that fact. But for now, let's stay on topic. I'm quite sure I can dig up Gwar quotes where he says that rules in other Codex or Army books do not affect other books.

You can't cite examples from other books to make your point, then you are arguing Intent, not Rules as Written.

What in Russ' name are you on about? We are talking about "Outflanking Transport A" and "Unit A". By your Logic, Unit B in "Deep Striking Transport B" may not Deep Strike. This is not a RaW thread anyway, so the point is moot. The rules allow it. End of Discussion. How you play it may be different.

Thats the FREAAKING POINT.
This is not a RAW argument. Its a poll about how PEOPLE PLAY THE GAME IN REAL LIFE. It says it in the first post.

I give up. YMDC sucks. I'll look elsewhere in the future. You're all on your own.

And since you say the rules allow it. "End of Discussion." Then it must be true? Really? I just happen to disagree with your INTERPRETATION. Thats all you have, is your interp, I am quoting specific rules to the Outflanking ability. You are quoting Space marine rules from a codex that has nothing to do with the argument, and I'm the one who is off track?

Who is this, and what have you done with Gwar?

What's this? A thread hijacked by Gwar and turned into a passive-aggressive flame fest until he finally manages to bully his opponents into backing down? Say it isn't so!

SSDD...

As for Valkyries, I'd say they can outflank with whatever their little mechanical hearts desire. It might not be strict RAW, but I think if the vehicle itself has the capability to make an outflanking move it would not be affected by the passengers it contains. That's looking at it from a purely logical standpoint, however, and we all know that's not what 40k is all about!
