I just wanted to inform everyone that I was the lucky recipient of some free figure from the Warstore.com (thanks NEAL!). I ordered some Tau bits and when they arrived two days later, I found two Mantic Games Elf Scouts on sprue. Does this happen often? With this being my second order from them, I was just curious. Anyway, these are pre-release figures as the actual release of Mantic Games is on September 28.

A little teaser to get you excited about the upcoming product ;P how is it btw?

I initially thought they were High Elves from Warhammer Fantasy with wiry body build (with head attached), Elven Plate Armor and a bow arm and a sword arm for each. When I looked at them closer, I saw they came with a base pre-attached with little detail that was significantly smaller than the 25mm GW base. From the website, they insert in the square base similar to the movement trays for WH Fantasy. I was thinking of coverting them into the Air Caste for the Tau. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Wayland Games in the UK (another good store) are also giving out sprue of the Mantic elves.

I also received a sprue with my order. They do look very small compared to a GW figure, but they are nicely detailed. Not sure if I would use them in a GW scaled army.

Free is an excellent price though. I'll certainly paint them up for fun.

Wayland games are sending Mantic sprues out for free now, you don't have to order anything.

Just placed an order with Wayland Games, did not notice anything about the free sprunes.
