I really like both armies, but I have to wonder... who would win?

My friends Have a shooty bunch of guard with heavy weapon emplacements and tanks, a shooty bunch of necrons with immortals, destroyers and a monolith,

and a a group of ALL close combat biomorf equiped tyranids- literally, there are no ranged biomorphs in this army...

so- Daemonhunters (mostly grey knights) or Chaos Daemons( )?

daemonhunters would outright wreck daemons.

the only units they would have problems with are bloodcrushers, and possibly bloodthirsters.

anything else, their special weapons ignore invulnerable saves, and are AP4, so no armor either. daemons at the cheapest are what, 14 points? so the grey knights wouldn't be outnumbered THAT badly either, and as only half the daemons come in to start, it would be in the GK's advantage until the reserves came in... and even then, mystics would allow the knights to blast them out of the sky.

You can probably make a more competitive list with chaos demon, but both lists are not really top tier. However they both have really cool fluff and some nice models.

I say go for whichever you'd rather model/paint.

With those armies as competition, and the others as the choices....I'd probably say Daemons just because you (currently) have more options with them. Both armies are an uphill battle, make no mistake about it. This one truly comes down to fluff and models...so do you like being the good guy or the bad guy?

Personally, as your friend, I'd say daemons, one GK basic troop is 25 pnts. 2 bloodletters (basic khorne troops) are 28 pnts. I think you get more bang for your buck w/ the daemons, 'sides, an all deep strike army is epic if done well. The base Khorne troops come w/ pwr wpns. How badass is that? Besides, against the nids, you're gonna have to assault. With the power weapons the nids will have no freakin' chance. The Carnifex's are gonna be a pain to kill, but anything strength 5 of the khornate persuasion'll be able to take them down.
