looking through some comments i seen that smoe of you guys are saying that terminators are heavy assault troops and only need close range guns and because of there save only need stormbolters, but im still not convinced i still thing they should have some 'nid mushing guns!!!

England.

Umm no?
Would be broken as hell. Unless you almost doubled their points cost.
I could see them having plasma cannons as an upgrade weapons (for a hefty price tag) but heavy bolters on basic termies would be insane and if they were upgrade weapons the assault cannon preforms the same role a heavy bolter does but better.

I agree that more options for weapons would be nice, but at least terms have one of the most versatile heavy weapons in the assault cannon.

One upgrade that would be reasonable is allowing more terminators to have combi-weapons eg. Sergeants. For the right price of course.

There's that twin plasma combi-weapon that one of the Ultramarine characters had. Maybe that should be a standard weapon.

There was a drawing in second edition that had a terminator wielding a plasma cannon.

Why isn't it done? Because Guilliman said they couldn't!

That sounds pretty nice to me. Although, I was referring to the combi-weapons that are allowed for Term Libs and Chaps in the DA codex (but not Belial for whatever reason ).

Back in 3rd edition, the original to the current 5th edition design of 40k, the progression was Bolter, Storm Bolter, and Heavy Bolter.

Back then, the Rapid Fire rules let you either fire once out to full range if the model didn't move, twice out to 12" if the model didn't move, and once out to 12" if the model did move, and you could assault after the moving shot.

So making the Storm Bolter Assault 2 and the Heavy Bolter Heavy 4 made for a tidy progression. What I'd prefer to see now is the Storm Bolter made Heavy 3, and the Heavy Bolter be Heavy 4.

Personally, I think that Terminators should be given the basic SB/PF combo, but then give them the opportunity to completely upgrade all their kit. Would be much fairer, and would look a lot cooler. The reason that Terminators aren't given HBs is that HBs are a completely different weapon to the average Bolter, whereas the SB is an upgrade of the Bolter (it's basically two bolters glued together! ).

Twin-Linked Bolters are two Bolters joined together. Also more effective than Storm Bolters within 12".

Somewhere in south-central England.

The concept of Terminators is that they are heavy assault troops, carried to the target by deep strike or a Land Raider, and only need short range weapons.

The assault cannon, power fists and some thunder hammers (?) give them a bit of close range anti-tank capability.

If you combine the staying power of Termies with support weapons, you make them more like mini-Dreadnaughts, but cheaper. That idea is OK in itself but the point cost would have to go up.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Terminator Armour is also known as Tactical Dreadnought Armour.

True, but it is just the armour, it doesent make them mini dreads on thier own.
New heavy weps would be nice, but keep it as it is with extras.

For example: Usual 1 man per unit (BA) can swap his storm for a HB, HF or cyclone, but add in las, plasma and melta aswell.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

It does make them mini-Dreadnoughts though. A Power Fist and a Stormbolter gives them the equivalent of a Dreandnought Close Combat Weapon and a Stormbolter. This can be swapped for a Heavy Flamer. A full-on Battle Dreadnought has basically double that armament.

Yea, double the weapons, and AV12 - 13 with various other rules
They are just basic marines in better armour.
Much like meganobz and basic nobz/boyz.

I think a single plasma cannon in a unit would be nice, since they can allready take an assault cannon there doesent really seem to be any restrictions. (being one of the few things in the game that can carry an assault cannon)

I think that's where the "Tactical" part comes in. They're not just wearing better armour though: they're wearing much better armour, with an improved Sv and an Iv, carrying heavier and more mobile weapons, can teleport, and so on. They're more tactically flexible than your average Dreadnought, but also more lightly armed, individually. The comparison is closer to Tactical Marines and Devastator Marines - less firepower but more flexbility.

I'm not a marine player, but I think it would be ok. Just have the weapon cost as much as it costs the Devs. And only one heavy weapon per 5 termies, max.
