Comes as a kit, on a flat fret. 9 Pieces. The final product will also include a 0.25" X 1" (approx) window. The finished door measures approx 1.5" X 1.75"-2". (Sorry, no measuring device ) Also most likley some other kind of decorative item... Unpainted. We are considering retailing at $3.00USD each. Thoughts ?

It's a nice piece. I'd consider buying whole kits to use this doorway with. I don't know if I'd just buy the doorway.

Hm. Interesting... We were considering avoiding kits... They eat quite a bit of material/time... But perhaps I could make some walls and floors too. I'll definatly look into it.

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

Would I buy?

That's a tricky question - as it stands, probably not. It's a great little kit (though the keypad panel could use some work). Though I'm probably not your target market for this particular item. Even at only USD$3, as an O/S buyer I'd have to factor in shipping, making it at least double that, probably more - which is just too much for me to spend on something I can build a reasonable facsimile of myself. So unless I needed a lot of doors (for Space Hulk or something), I'd probably pass - it comes down to cost vs. time vs. convenience.

You might want to consider also doing a 'simple' door set as well, which could be just two pieces that glue on top of each other to make a single-sided door in the closed position - something people can glue onto their existing structures, and you could fit more to the sheet to make it more cost attractive.

I'm not trying to be discouraging, I'm especially interested in how other things you've mentioned turn out, especially those catwalks!

i probably would considering the price is right, of course.

Edit: Saw price, its a fairly decent one, still a tiny bit high, you never need less than 15

I think if was made to look like it could actually open further than it already is then it would be a more appealing kit. As it stands, it looks like it could only open that far and only really skinny figures would fit through it.

Somewhere in south-central England.

I agree with the comment about the open width being rather narrow.

Obviously this piece goes with Space Hulk.

It would be nice if you made it compatible with another company's Space Corridors.

Final decision would depend on price, of course.

It looks pretty good - although for me a key critera for a door is whether a standard figure will fit through it on it's base, it doesn't look like this would (actually a pic with a mini next to it for scale would be useful)

Otherwise I'd be looking for a set of stuff - not nessesarily a full kit, that I could add to home-made foamboard/plasticard walls and floors) Say 1 small door, 1 big (double) door, 6 windows, a set of stairs, and a bunch of detailing/decortation extras (pipes, wires, lights, signs etc)

Wow, all very very helpful comments here ! I will most definatly revise the file... Just for refernce tho, how wide should it be ? I'm not sure of all the base sizes at the moment, I was modeling around 25mm X 25mm tho. But I also agree... I am dissapointed by the opened width.

It's pretty nice! But I wonder if there are some space corridors and industrial towers to compliement them.

On a serious note, I'm down with the kit idea.

What do you mean by never need less then 15 ? You would need 15 doors ?

Damn it Luna, if you keep chaning your Avatar, at least stick to anime theme you had before. I almost didn't recognize you there

On topic: it looks interesting. I supposes it can be closed and opened? That however would it make harder to fit into 3D terrain.

I like the look of it, to be used with some scratch-built buildings and ruins. Walls are easy - doors are tricky to make look right (as this does).
Would be nice to see a model stood at the side of it to gauge the size better.

Obviously I'd rather pay less than more, but $3 sounds about right (Depending on exchange rate to £)

Love the idea, but would be put off by fact that it doesn't open fully, and by the crooked etching on the control panel.

The crooked control panel is fixed easily. It cut it out before it did the etching, so it caused it to be crooked... I just need to tell it to etch before it cuts. I redrew the file today to open further... I'll make the opening 25-27mm as opposed to 18mm which it is now.
