...to make gw redo their ranges of ig regiments such as valhallans, iron guard, vostroyans and tallarns to PLASTIC MODELS by sending enough emails/letters to nottingham??
I know it sounds stupid but it works with poiticans...so maybe....

No. You can try if you want, but I don't think that GW would change their course just because a few people sent some letters. And besides, why would you want plastic vostroyans? There's no way the detail would be as good. Some of the older armies, like tallarn/valhallan, and mordians/praetorians would be nice to have plastics of though.

You can put my name on that list. I love the look the Tallarn and Vahallans have. Its just they are metal and look like butt. And since they are old, people think they are made of gold. Infact if they redid the Tallarn Raiders minis, Id buy me an army. I dont even care if they make a Tallarn themed tanks and such, just the troops is what I want.

Yeah, I'd love to get some new Tallarn and have a nice Arab-themed army. You know from a planet where a small minority of the population takes over through the help of the Imperium and proceeds to oppress the majority population, who become tough as nails by fighting for survival every day of their lives. With some nice kuffiyehs thrown in there.

They said they were planning on releasing all Guard regiments in plastic about a Gamesday or two ago. It'll just take some time.

"Planning" means in the next 10 years. Maybe.

With GW it's a mystery. Don't count on it.

I think rather than have separate valhallans, tallern, iron guard ect, it would be best to have a box of GREATCOAT guard with arab, gas-mask and snow cap heads and other bitz.

Yeah, some generic greatcoat/cloth robed guard which look very different to the Cadian or horrible Catachan plastics would be good. Then there could be customisation sets sold separately or something.

The reason certain models are plastic has to do with supply and demand. Molds for plastic figures are made of metal, and very expensive to make (like $20,000 for a mold that needs replacing every year or so), where molds for metal figures are made of rubber, and cheaper to make ($2000). if they made all their models plastic theyd lose a ton of money making molds for models that dont sell as well. Want it to be plastic? Buy more.

(My buddy works in a foundry that does that stuff, thats how I know)

To be fair, the heavy weapons and command squad sprues for the Catachans are absolutely lovely. It's just the standard infantry that are complete and utter gak.

I'm pretty sure GW is going to hold greatcoat guard in reserve for when they really need it. That really seems like the most popular and most requested IG regiment they could make, and would definitely make for a good boost in sales if things start going downhill at some point.
