Subject: Using Power Point to test Army Set ups

Well I was a bit curious on how I could set up my upcomming "most creative way to lose" Night goblin army for the most over all fail! So I tried some things on power point and turns out this might be useful for actually trying out different set ups for your army and you can switch around the terrain too... your probably like wow... your smart... not really... I could have done that... Well I would hope you could do it cause its really easy, just something I never thought of... 1. Get an Army list 2. Make a large square 3. Put lines through the square till you have what looks like your unit set up... For example my 10x3 units of Night Goblin Archers, even got blue squares to mark characters! (just make seperate squares and order them to be on top... wow) 4. DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING! just highlight it all, right click, scroll to grouping and group them 5. Copy and paste if you have multiple of the unit 6. Repeat till your army is done... I added lables to some of mine jsut for the hell of it. 7. Make some terrain. I used the auto shape curves for hills... wrote in hill, grouped, and copied/pasted it... Found a basic shape tree. copy/pasted a bunch, grouped, copied a second.. easy right? 8. randomize the terrain as you would like 9. Set up! Its pretty easy and you can try out many set ups and mess around with the terrain and etc... It may not be the best way to do it but its kinda cool ( I think it is at least <.< ) Just thought Id share... Let me know what you think! EDIT: Fixed the pictures! However they dont look amazing <.<

Its not a bad idea, but you'd find it quicker and easier to do in a vector art package like CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
The only other thing is that whilst you could play around with your deployment (and as an aside its a great tool for designing boards if you have terrain projects planned) - what else can it do for you that pen-and-paper can't?

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme? |

Drink is the curse of the land. It makes you fight with your neighbor. It makes you shoot at your landlord, and it makes you miss him. |

That's a nice idea, but as others are saying, using Powerpoint for that is very much using a cordless power drill as a hammer. You may be better off with using something like Visio or similar diagram drawing software rather than making due with the WordArt style diagrams which PowerPoint or Word will support.
